Can You Still Be A 'Star' If You Have A Lot Of Flops?

I constantly see people here make fun of stars like Shahid for example due to the fact that he has a lot of flops and acording to one member only 3 hits.

Yup... popularity is not only measured by BO figures... a lot of other figures are also relevant.

Kareena and Aishwarya are examples of how you can be SUPERSTARS but have a line of flop films behind you

I don't believe good content makes a film a hit always.

We have seen good content movies flop.

Yeah Amitabh Bachchan had a ton of flops before Zanjeer 😆😆

I nvr knew sahid kapur is in demand...n by dis logic even ms kapoor n jr bacchan are star as they too r getting works evn after giving flop after flop...lol

Movies flop no problem. Public Relations department flop nahi hona chayea. As long as their PR is a hit he or she can be a "Star".

Saw the title and knew Shahid will be used as an example.. Shahid is truly a unique case.. I was a fan then still is a fan and will remain a fan.. He has a face that I cant hate and a struggle story I can relate to..

Yes thats possible in BW because we have a dearth of good talent. The biggies dont allow talent from outside the industry to flourish. Yes we hv some odd examples from TV industry who still managed to prove their worth but how often do we see a non-star kid/non-model enter into industry and make it big? Very very rare. There are so many acting schools in the country and I am pretty sure we have many good looking and talented aspiring actors out there but do we ever see them? Its obvious when you dont allow outsiders to enter the industry the audience will be forced to watch the few actors left. There's no option. So even if Kareena gives a dozen flops she will still remain a super star. So even if Sonakshi never gave a solo hit she will still get movies. So even if Arjun Kapoor looks totally unfit he will still get to work with A-listers. In BW flops don't matter specially if you are a star kid/relative.
