Chapter 7

Rahul was still staring at maanvi as she put down the tray of food in front of him. He felt like maanvi was trying to avoid looking at him. "She is mad at me." he thought.

Rahul~ "Maanvi..." he tried to speak but maanvi made an excuse to avoid getting in conversation with him.

Maanvi~ "Tum breakfast kar lo, tab tak me freshen up ho kar aati hoon." and she goes to take a shower.

Rahul took a sip of orange juice and applied jam on his toast. He remembered that few days ago maanvi was jealous of Avanti when she was wiping jam off from his face. So he applies some jam smudge on his face and waits for maanvi to come.

Maanvi comes out dressed up in shaded red-orange saree, wet hairs, and few drops of water on her face. Seeing rahul staring again, maanvi feels a little shy. She notices a smudge on his face and points to wipe it.

But rahul keeps wiping everywhere else but that smudge which he intentionally put there. Maanvi is forced to come close and wipe it for him. As she comes and sits close, scent from her hairs is breath-taking. She slowly extends her hand for his face, and as she is wiping the smudge, their eyes meet.

That eye lock was enough to make them forget everything. Maanvi froze just like that with her hand still on his face, and rahul staring into the very depths of maanvi's eyes. He could see that there is something else that maanvi is trying to hide. He slowly reached out for her, caressing a lock of hairs off of her face and wiping a drop of water from her cheeks. At that touch, maanvi closed her eyes; giving in to the feelings she has always stopped herself from feeling before. This didn't go un-noticed by rahul.

Soon maanvi snapped out of it. She stood up and tried to leave but rahul caught her hand.

"Tum mujhse naraaz to nahi ho na maanvi?" he had a slight note of worry in his voice.

Maanvi turned around and replied "Nahi rahul. Main tumse naraaz nahi hoon. Jo bhi hua uss mein tumhari galti nahi thi. Wo sab kyun hua, kaise hua, aur kiski wajah se hua ye main jaanti hoon. Tum aram karo. Mein Chotu se keh kar tumhe sponge-bath dilwa deti hoon."

Rahul~ "Are! Nahi nahi nahi!... Chotu kyun dega mujhe sponge-bath? Nahi. Chotu nahi."

Maanvi remembered last time they had the argument over sponge-bath and she smiled. Rahul had the same memory and he smiled as well. In a teasing tone he said

"Agar tum mujhe sponge-bath karaogi to theek hai. Nahi to main khud shower le lunga..."

Hearing that maanvi blushed so hard, her cheeks turned red. She picked up nearest pillow and threw at rahul "besharam! Mujhe tewar dikha rahe ho? Chodo mujhe." She tried to pull her arm out of his grip, but he kept his grip firmly on her hand.

Maanvi~ "Rahul, chodo mujhe! Maine kaha chodo mujhe. Chodo mujhe. Nahi to..." trying very hard to break free of his grip.

Rahul~ "Nahi to kya maanvi?..." still teasing her.

Maanvi~ "Nahi to... Nahi to... main tumhe sponge bath nahi dungi!" looking at him.

Rahul immidiatly changed his tone "Pakka?"

Maanvi~ "Haan, pakka."

Rahul let go of her. She blushed at the thought of it and asked Chotu to bring towels, sponge and some hot water. She took some simpler cloths and asked rahul to change into them for sponge bath while she comes back from kitchen with some hot water. Rahul did as told like an obedient child.

5 minutes later maanvi entered with hot water, sponge and fresh towels. Rahul just sat there in his cute pose, staring at maanvi as she gave him sponge bath. Maanvi would blush every once a while, when her eyes meets his.

Rahul had that charming smile fixed on his face the whole time. When done, maanvi started to take all the stuff back.

"Zyada kush hone ki zaroorat nahi hai. Roz roz ye nahi chalega." She said with a fake anger.

"Ji biwi ji. Jaisa aap kahe. Par jab tak main theek nahi ho jaata tab tak to aapko apne pati ki sewa karni chahiye na? Waise bhi, pati ki sewa karna punya ka kaam mana jata hai."

"Zyada smart banane ki zaroorat nahi hain..." maanvi tried to make a come back.

"Banane ki zaroorat hi nahi hai. Wo to main hoon." Rahul teased with a smirk.

Maanvi chose to not reply and took away the tray of sponge bath. As she was walking down, she was thinking of when their eyes met... when she was trying to leave and rahul caught her hand...

"Yeh kya ho raha hai mujhe? Har pal har bar kyun main rahul ki tarf hi khichi jaati hoon? Kya hai jo mujhko uss se bandhe hue hai?... Rahul ke alava mujhe koi aur ab nazar bhi nahi aata. Iss tarah to sabko pata chal jayega ki main rahul ke liye kya feel karti hoon... Par kya mujhe khud ko pata hai ki main rahul ke liye kya feel karti hoon?"

In her thoughts, she accidentaly tripped in her own saree and spilled some water on the floor. Looking at water on floor "I need to get it cleaned up or someone might slip. Chotu..."

Chotu~ "Ji bhabhi ji?"

Maanvi~ "Chotu ye mujhse galti se pani gir gaya hai. Tum ye tray le jao tab tak main isko saaf kar deti hoon."

Chotu~ "Bhabhi ji, aap kyun karengi. Mujhe karne dijiye. Aap jaake rahul bhaiya ka khayal rakhiye. Main ye saaf kar dunga." he insisted.

Maanvi couldn't say no to Chotu so she hands over the tray and comes back to the room. Maanvi enters room and gives an annoyed look to rahul which he returns with a cute smile. She goes in front of the mirror and starts brushing her mane. As she was brushing her hairs, she saw rahul staring again in the mirror.

"Ab kya?" she asked in same annoyed tone.

"Kuch nahi. Wo kya hai na ki main bore ho raha hoon. Tum to mujhe studio jaane nahi dogi. To meri pyari biwi ji, aap hi bataiye ki main kya karoon?" asked rahul in innocent tone.

Maanvi looked at him and thought for a moment "Ab... Wo... mujhe kaise pata hoga ki tum bore hone se bachne ke liye kya karte ho? Tum hamesha to mujhe pareshan karte rahte ho. Mujhe to wahi pata hai tumhara sabse favourite pass time."

Rahul in his playful tone "Acha ji. Mera favourite pass time tumko pareshan karna hai? Aur tumhara favorite pass time kya hai?... Let me guess, mujhse ladna? Nahi?"

Maanvi jaw drops. She turns around and says "Acha? Main tumse ladti hoon? Tum mujhse ladte ho. Baat baat par mujhe pareshan karte ho. Aur koi kaam to hota nahi hai tumse. Main bhala tumse kyun ladne lagi?"

Rahul with a cute smile "Hmmm... to abhi ye ladai kaun kar raha hai? Mujhe to pehle sirf shak tha, par ab to pakka yahin ho gaya hai ki tumko lade bina mazaa nahi aata hai."

Maanvi getting irritated "O Hello! Mujhe tumse ladne ka koi shauk nahi hai. Tumse lad kar mujhe kaunsa koi award milega? Tum to rehne hi do rahul. Mujhse zyada to tumko mujhse ladne me jyada mazaa aata hai. Isliye jab dekho tab tum mujko ladne ke liye chedte rehte ho."

Rahul looks down with a smile "Wo to sach hai. Jab tum mujhse yoon ladte ladte itne paas aati ho..."

Maanvi didn't realize that distracted by her conversation with rahul she has come so close to him that they were barely few inches away.

She felt so shy and she took a step back, but rahul took a step towards her maintaining the same distance. Understanding the situation of what was happening; maanvi felt a sudden change in the air. She took another step back but rahul again took a step closer maintaining the same distance. Maanvi tried to back off but she got pinned down by the wall and rahul took another step closer.

Maanvi gasped and tried to run away but rahul blocked her way with his hand. They were so close and staring right into each other's eyes. Maanvi froze, she couldn't even think straight any more. It felt like rahul's eyes were keeping her stay right where she is. Rahul was so much taken by the depth in maanvi's eyes and he didn't know what he was doing either. He slowly lifted his hand to caress maanvi, while she raised her hand and put it on his heart. They both tilted their head and came closer until their lips touched.

It was a gentle kiss. Maanvi soon realized what is she doing, and broke off from the kiss. Scared from her venture in to the uncharted zone of her relationship and feelings towards rahul, she zoomed out of the room. Even rahul felt wrong to have not been able to control himself around her. He didn't have that trouble before. "What changed?" to which he had no answer as of yet and don't think maanvi will help him find that answer now.

Nisha was yelling at Chotu "Mere kamre se wo cockroach abhi tak gaya ke nahi?"

Chotu~ "Ma'am me dhoond raha hoon. Ab tak to wo waise hi bhag gaya hoga."

Nisha~ "I don't care. Tum pehle usko dhoond kar nikalo baad me kuch aur karna."

Avanti arrives at sabarwal mansion. She was thingking to herself "Maanvi brought rahul home and now even raj uncle will not speak ill about her at least for next few days. I have to do something about this. This cannot be happening right now."

Avanti enter the house and finds Nisha.

Avanti~ "Rahul kahan hai?"

Nisha~ "Aur kahan hoga? Apne kamre me. He is exhausted and weak from being held by kidnappers. So he is resting."

Avanti~ "Ok, Thanks." saying that Avanti heads towards rahul-maanvi's room. She didn't notice the wet floor and slips...

"Aaah..." Avanti yells as she falls so hard.

Hearing that yell; raj, Sonali, dadi, maanvi all comes down and finds Avanti on the floor. She was hurt and couldn't get up. Raj calls the ambulance while nisha and maanvi helps her up on the sofa.

Dadi~ "Are Avanti puttar, ek to tum kudiyaan kuch khati peeti nahi ho us par se itni nazuk ho. Ab aise me ye patli si kamar agar tut gayi to kya dieting aur kya styling? Phir to saari umar kamar pahad kar bhudi aurat ki tarah ghumna!"

Listening to the taunts of Dadi ji, Sonali and maanvi couldn't resist from smiling but they somehow managed to hide it. Avanti kept crying in pain and she was hurt badly.

Soon ambulance arrived to take Avanti to the hospital. Then also dadi ji asked Nisha to go with her best friend Avanti to the hospital and other people will join them later. Once Nisha and Avanti left, all three sabarwal ladies; dadi ji, Sonali and maanvi laughed so hard on dadi's taunt and avanti's facial expressions which were hilarious.

Dadi thinks to herself "Acha hua jo uss karamjali Avanti ko chot lag gayi. Jab dekho tab apna muh uthaye chali aati hai jaise yeh uske papa ka ghar ho. Aur koi kaam to hota nahi hai iske paas. Main to kehti hoon ki do char haddi tut jaye uss marjani Avanti ki. Kam se kam kuch din to yahan nahi aayegi phir."

when will this happen in the show...
at least here Maanvi is aware of all and is successful in extracting the pain from Rahul life.
