Kinna Sohna Yaar Heere Vekh Di Nazaara (x2)
What a beautiful scenery Heer is looking at
(Heer is looking at her beloved Ranjha)
Ranjha Mera Ranjha
O my Ranjha (lover)
(The above couple of lines are referring to Heer-Ranjha,
a famous romantic couple in Indian History, similar to Romeo-Juliet)
Manjha Chaar Da Bechaara
The poor guy is resting on the bed
This first verse is rather literal when it comes to applying it to Twinkle and Kunj. In this track, I think we are going to get a in-depth look of Twinkle's love for Kunj. Thus far, we have seen attraction but today she admitted her love and it makes matters for serious. Her mission right now is to resolve things with Kunj. This verse connects well to when Twinkle is gazing out the balcony hoping she could glance at Kunj. It speaks of Twinkle is wistfully looking at while Kunj is "lying on bed' which can represent how torn about what is going on in his life. While Twinkle is there hoping to resolve things, Kunj is frozen in this angry stage where he is helpless. His focus is not on Twinkle, over say, but the situation.
Main Heer Haan Teri
I'm Your Heer
Main Peedh Haan Teri
I'm Your partner (life-partner)
Je Tu Baddal Kaala
If You are a black cloud
Main Neer Haan Teri
I'm the water (that rains)
I think the second to fourth line relate to the decision making process behind Twinkle's choices. She considers herself to be Kunj's life partner hence the decision she made, to her, was apt. She wanted to protect her husband did all she could to achieve that. Being someone's life partner entails being there for them for their highs and lows and protecting them. Kunj did the very same for Twinkle regarding RT, regarding Mahi and more. Furthermore, the description of the black cloud and rain is powerful. Kunj is going through a tough time and Twinkle was there for him during then, she was his support. I think of that beautiful hug and even now Twinkle is with him. She is attempting to fix things even though Kunj may/may not be overreacting. A black/rainy cloud (which is also what my name means...#UnsolicitedFunFact) and rain go hand in hand which can represent that throughout there struggles Twinkle and Kunj will stay together despite their misunderstandings. I think of the Farmhouse Misunderstanding where Kunj was angry yet he came through for her when he needed to. The same goes as of now- Twinkle is upset but she will not let their personal differences come in the way of their family.
Kar Jaaniye Ranjhe
I'll do it Ranjha
Ho Darr Jaaniye Ranjhe
If I feel scared Ranjha
Ho Burro Teri Ya Socha
If I think bad about You
Mar Jaaniye Ranjhe
I'll die Ranjha
I like the last two lines a lot. When someone is acting unjustly towards you, it takes a lot to forgive them or to even be pleasant with them. I like that with Twinkle she has not complained about Kunj. She is hurt that he does not see her perspective yet that is not as important as attaining his forgiveness. She is not focusing on his irrationalness or sudden change in demeanor but she wants to fix things. I think that's the biggest thing here.
Mera Ranjha Main Ranjhe Di
Ranjha is mine, I'm Ranjha's
Ranjha Hai Chit Chor
Ranjha is a heart stealer
Je Karke Woh Mil Jaaye Ta
I want to achieve/attain him whatever happens
Ki Chahinda Hai Haur
What more do I need?
As I stated earlier, this verse reinforces that Kunj has captures Twinkle's heart. All Twinkle wants now is to fix things. She's putting raise her self respect to do so- her constant pleas and reaching out hurt me. I suppose it's because I have too much pride but I doubt I would be able to reach out to someone that many times if they are so deadset on blaming me. Yet, Twinkle does not feel so. She needs nothing more than her Kunj back.
Teri Aan Haan Ranjhe
I hold Your honour Ranjha
Teri Shaan Haan Ranjhe
I hold Your pride Ranjha
Dil Vich Maiyyo Tadka
In my heart-beats there lies
Teri Jaan Haan Rancho
Your soul Ranjha
I LOVE this verse. Honor and respect is a big part of Twinkle and Kunj's relationship. I think of the episodes where Twinkle stepped up for Kunj's honour. For example, when she took the blame of stealing Yuvi's locket (I think) or when she cleaned Anita's shoe when the cake fell. It reminds me of when Kunj, although displeased with her participation, attended Mrs. Amritsar's rounds. Similarly, this verse brings forth the idea of protecting the person from outsiders. Twinkle did not want Kunj's relationship with his father to worsen, did not want their family to be dishonored so she did what she did. The heart of her actions was Kunj which connects to the last two lines.
Overall, the song is about wanting someone. Heer-Ranjha is a famous love story and we put such stories on a pedestal. The idea of having someone that you care for as much as much Heer and Ranjha did is powerful. It sheds light o n Kunj's importance in Twinkle's life.
Alright, I'm done. Thank you for reading! Do share your thoughts! I look forward to them.
Also here is a beautiful female remix this this song; listen to it! It will break your heart because I can imagine Twinkle singing it.
