Chapter 5

Maanvi comes to see Sonali in her room.

"Mommy ji, aaj dada ke saath mujhe kahin bahar jaana hai. Ho sakta hai ki mujhe aane me der ho jaye. Ya phir main maa baba ke paas hi reh jaungi. Isse koi problem to nahi hai na?"

Sonali~ "Nahi, koi problem nahi hai. Acha hi to hai. Rahul ke bina tumhara bhi to man nahi lag raha hoga. Issi bahane tumhara dhyan bhi bat jayega. Bhagwan kare rahul jaldi se ghar wapas aajaye. Sab kuch theek ho jayega. ACP sahab ne kaha hai na ki wo rahul ko jaldi ghar wapas le aayenge. Tum chinta mat karo. Ok?"

Maanvi~ "Ji mommy ji." On that understanding note, maanvi came down in the hallway. There was a knock on the door. Chotu answers it and there was a delivery guy. Delivery guy asks for Mrs. Maanvi Rahul Sabarwal.

Maanvi~ "Yes?"

Delivery guy~ "Madam, this is a gift and a bouquet for you." handing over the gift and the beautiful bouquet to maanvi."

Maanvi brings them to her room. There was a card with the bouquet which reads as follows:

"Dear Maanvi Rahul Sabarwal,
Thank You. Meri zindagi me aane ke liye, mere saath bitaye har pal ke liye, mujhse shaadi karne ke liye, mujhse dosti karne ke liye... Ye bouquet aur ye gift uss har lamhe ko yaadgar banane ke liye, ek pyaar bhara thank you kehne ke liye, meri taraf se, meri khubsoorat biwi ke liye...
Happy One Month Wedding Anniversary Maanvi."

A tear falls on the card. Maanvi wipes her tears and opens up the neatly wrapped gift. It is a custom made, side table show piece with digital calendar. The digital calendar showed first entry of today as being one month wedding anniversary. The show piece was a golden silver photo frame with musical notes embedded and there was a photo of rahul maanvi from the party on the first day of them being married.

As the clock hit 5:00 pm, in place of alarm, there was voice recording from rahul:

"Kisi shaayar ki gazal... Koi mujhko yoon mila hai, jaise banjaare ko ghar. Happy One Month Wedding Anniversary Maanvi."

Hearing rahul voice and seeing that gift... maanvi could no longer control her feelings and fresh tears started rolling down her cheeks. Maanvi whispers to herself

"Kyun rahul?... Kyun har bar tum aisa kuch karte ho ki mere liye apni feelings ko dabaana aur bhi mushkil ho jaata hai. Jis tarah, jin halaat me bhi hum saath aaye, tumne humesha mera saath diya. Ab aaj main tumhara saath doongi rahul. Main tumhe har haal me bachaungi. Tumhe ghar wapas lekar hi aungi main rahul."

Meanwhile guru ji and his apprentice visited the hold where his hired goons were supposed to be keeping rahul. Seeing guru ji, goon's leader approaches him.

Guru ji~ "Humara mehmaan kaisa hai?... Usko yahan rakhne mein koi pareshani to nahi aayegi? Abhi aate samay maine police walo ko iss area ke doosri taraf dekha."

Leader~ "Nahi boss, koi problem nahi hai. Humare mehmaan ko humne behosh kar rakha hai. Jis kamre me humne usko rakha hai wo kisi ko milega bhi nahi. Wo kya hai na ye jagah pehle police walo se chori ka maal ya drugs ka maal chupane ke liye tha. Par ab wo adda dusri jagah chala gaya hai. Iss liye humne usko yahan par laya."

Guru ji~ "Hmm... theek hai. Abhi mujhko humare mehmaan se milna hai."

Leader~ "Ji boss. Aiye..." leading guru ji to the hidden room.

As they enter, leader is shocked to see empty chair and broken rope pieces around it. Guru ji is stunned as well to see no rahul there. One of the other goons comes running in and informs that some police guys has caught one of their own, maybe by mistake for the last night's incident on the other end of the area.

Guru ji inquires for all the details from last night. The guy reveals that they checked up on rahul last night and he was right here unconscious and firmly tied up. And about the incident on the other end of the area, all he knows that there were some drunks who got beat up pretty badly last night. So far police are just investigating and no one knows who or how did they ended up like that in the street.

Furious with this guru ji inquires what the hell they were doing that they didn't even realize when rahul got freed. And how could he escape through a locked room without anyone noticing? Guru Ji orders them to get everyone and find rahul as soon as possible. If they cannot find rahul, all the planning and hard work guru ji has done in past will be wasted. So close to the success and now because of small mishandling and carelessness from these goons will cost him everything.

"I cannot sit idly. I will have to do something and soon. He needs to find a way to control the situation that is slipping out of his hands. What if Raj finds out that I have been using him for my own gain?...No. I cannot let this happen. I cannot lose. I cannot lose!" guru ji said to himself.

Back at Talwar Residence, Nisha stops by to say hi to her friend Avanti. Nisha informs Avanti that how rahul is been missing. Hearing that news Avanti gets so restless and then worries about where he might be, what could be happening to him and all.

Seeing this Nisha asks Avanti to relax. The police already have suspects and they have a full team of capable men to look for him. Nisha makes fun of maanvi how she is like a kite without its string.

Nisha~ "Pata hai Avanti, jabse rahul gaayab hua hai, maanvi pura din ghar se bahar rahul ko dhoond ne me laga deti hai. Jaise ki police se pehle wo rahul ko dhoond legi. Acha hai, kam se kam uss behengi ko ghar me jhelna to nahi padta..."

Avanti~ "Tum mujhe ye bata rahi ho ki usko ghar par koi rokta bhi nahi hai? I mean iss tarah, itne bade ghar ki bahu, jagah jagah ghoomti phire to kya image reh jayegi society mein?"

Nisha~ "To ghoomne do... Mujhe kaunsa pharak padta hai. Par tumhe kya hua hai?"

Avanti~ "Nisha... tum kuch nahi samajhti.Ye sab uss maanvi ki chaal hai. Agar rahul mil jata hai to maanvi ye jataane me koi kasar nahi chodegi ki rahul uski wajah se mila hai. Aur phir sabki nazar mein maanvi ki uss ghar me image tumse better ho jayegi, especially Raj uncle ki nazar me. Waise hi uss ghar me aadhe members to pehle hi uss maanvi ko tumse jyada pasand karte hai. Phir agar Raj uncle phi usse accept karne lage to tumhara aur Shaleen ka kya hoga? Think about it."

Nisha~ "I think you are right. Ye to maine socha hi nahi."

Avanti~ "Yahi to main bhi keh rahi hoon. To jao Nisha jaake rook uss maanvi ko. Agar usne rahul ko dhoond liya to wo jeet jayegi. Aur usski wajah se bar bar humko neecha dekhna padega."

So after their discussion, they decides that Nisha will leave for sabarwal mansion and try to stop maanvi from going after rahul while Avanti will go and look for rahul.

Harsh comes to pick maanvi from sabarwal mansion at the decided time. According to the plan they will go and meet with the ACP and his trusted men. From there they will all go to the place where Kajal and Ghosh babu will be waiting for them with all the preparations ready.

Maanvi prays to god to help her in her work and keep rahul safe from all harm. Then she takes off with harsh to go meet with ACP. They drive to the city outskirts to the east of the city. When maanvi and harsh reached, ACP was already there waiting for them with his team.

Maanvi had the location of rendezvous point for meeting with Kajal and Ghosh babu. Together they all take off for that place. It was about a two hours' drive.

ACP and harsh were curious about what was this all about. Maanvi wanted to tell but she only said that this has something to do with trying to save rahul and everyone else. Whatever has been happening is not Rahul's fault but instead he is suffering for the deeds Raj committed in the past. As his wife, she has been given a chance to do something which if succeeds can save rahul from that terrible punishment. Even if there is a slightest chance for maanvi to succeed, she is willing to try.

They all finally reach the location and there was an old Maha Durga Temple. The local residents have lot of stories of the miracles that has been a part of the long history of that place. Kajal had already spoken with the temple priests and with their help finished all the preparations beforehand.

Kajal explains the ritual to maanvi "Is mandir me kehte hai mata ke bahut se chamatkar dekhe gaye hai. Aaj hum sabse pehle mata ki Pooja karenge. Ek chote se hawan ke saath pehle mantroon ka jaap hoga. Umeed hai ki uss mantra ki shakti se rahul aur uske ander reh rahi sher ki aatma dono iss mandir ki or aayenge. Yeh mandir apne pavitra shaktiyoon ke liye bhi jaana jata hai..."

Kajal explains the details of how the pure positive energy from this temple and maanvi's aura will help rahul to find his way straight to this temple. Not only that, once rahul comes here, he will also be more in control of himself than be under control of the tiger spirit. But given the rahul shows up at this temple. That is all up to the goddess Durga to whom we will request to watch over us all tonight and help us succeed in our efforts.

After rahul arrives at the temple, rahul and maanvi both have to continue on to the next phase together in which the tiger spirit will be helped to calm itself and be freed to return to where it came from. Thus it can be reborn in its homeland and live in peace for the rest of the days. During second phase, harsh needs to take the place of parent or guardian to offer his blessings to the pair. ACP and his men can be on watch in case guru ji has found out about this attempt to free the tiger spirit and because he can send his men to try to disrupt the process.

With everything in place, maanvi begins with the prayer to goddess Durga to grant her blessings and help her in her efforts. Priests and Kajal are with maanvi guiding and chanting the prayer and mantras. Ghosh babu, Harsh, ACP and his men bears witness to all that was going on.

The air starts to fill with chant spreading around the area and anyone who heard it, felt the energies that have gathered at the temple tonight.

Losing rahul made guru ji nervous and anxious. He decided to not leave anything to chance and head back to his ashram. He asked most of his disciples, except a few, to leave the ashram tonight. He gathered around some of the Pooja stuff and decided to lure the tiger spirit here himself.

The tiger will seek vengeance for the night 10 years ago, the day that lead to casting of the curse on rahul. Using that, guru ji decided to draw him towards the ashram.

Along with his disciples, guru ji started the chanting and throwing some stuff into the fire calling upon the dark forces. The effects soon started to show... night turning darker... storm gathering, building as the time starts passing by... minute by minute.

Even though the tiger spirit would not have been at the peak of its powers, guru ji cannot risk losing rahul for a single moment. If someone finds out about the curse and attempts to break it, guru ji will never be able to gain these powers possessed by that tiger spirit.

Somewhere in the jungle, rahul was wandering. The tiger spirit needed to hunt and satisfy its needs as a predator. His sense picks up a small animal in the nearby bushes. As the tiger rahul gets ready to pounce on his prey, his attention is caught by energies calling to him.

The energies were familiar but in a bad way. These were the same energies he felt the day he returned from Durgapur jagir and met the guy responsible for hurting him on the ninth day of Navratri at the sacred temple. The feelings of rage and vengeance took over almost immediately. Hence rahul started to head towards the source of these energies, "it has to end tonight!" growled the tiger inside him.

As he was closing in on the source, the power was getting stronger along with his need to end it tonight. Unware of the goons waiting for him to fall in their trap, rahul was speeding towards the ashram.

Suddenly, a voice made him stop abruptly in his tracks. He looked around trying to listen to them again. But the place was dead silent.

"Mujhe aisa kyun laga ki jaise koi mujhe pukar raha ho?..." whispered rahul.

As he turned around to continue on his way to ashram, there was it again... clearer, louder than the first time.

"Rahul... Rahul..." it was no doubt maanvi's voice, calling to him. But it wasn't a voice; it was a feeling from heart. Maanvi was trying to reach out to him. Just like last night, desperate... "Maanvi..." wondered rahul. "Is something wrong? Is she in trouble?..."

Without second thought, rahul dropped his chase towards the ashram and rushed in the direction from where the feelings from maanvi felt strong. One of the goons spotted rahul leaving, and he took the rest of the goons with him, chasing after rahul. They thought maybe the tiger spirit sensed danger and hence is trying to run away.
