kshay Kumar's philanthropy knows no bounds!
Akshay Kumar is now a phenomenal actor and one of the biggest stars of Bollywood. The actor, who has done a lot of films, most of them falling in the action genre recently wrote an open letter to honour the stuntsmen of the industry and how it has been an unfair move to not felicitate them in award shows. His open letter shook the film industry and for the better. The Airlift actor, in his open letter spoke of the how the stuntsmen were the the reason behind a star becoming a hero. The risks taken by the stuntsmen especially with their lives to make the actors look his best in films only resulting in lack of recognition was something that didn't go down well with the actor. Luckily, Zee Cine Awards, this year, took up this grave ignorance to notice and created a new category to felicitate the stuntsmen.
The first stuntman to be felicitated is Raju who tragically lost his life while on the job. Akshay personally gave a cheque of Rs. 11 lacs to Raju's family and this sequence will be aired on tonight's Zee Cine Awards, tonight at 7 on Zee Cinema. The award was accepted by Raju's wife and his two kids and brother Mehboob. This incident had taken place on the sets of Akshay's film, Jaanwaar when he lost control of the car during an action sequence. The actor was deeply moved at the award's show when the stuntsman's son, who was born 20 days after his father's demise, and his daughter arrived at the ceremony.
In his letter, the actor wrote, "I know winning an award isn't enough for what you all painfully go through for these million dollar projects, but it would be a little start, yet sadly our fraternities are barely even honouring you with that. I just want you to know coming from a Stunt/Actor like myself, I Admire, Respect, Honour & am Eternally Grateful for everything you all do, my children still have their Father in one piece because there is always someone prepared to take the fall that I may not be able to take one day. To all the #Stuntmen I have ever worked alongside around the World, you are in my & my family's prayers. You deserve so much more than a wage packet, & I hope I live long enough to see a change."
n honour of all the stuntsman who have faced life risks with a view to get a stuint right, Zee Cine Awards 2016 has decided to start a new category that caters to awarding the stuntsmen as well. In fact, the first award for the category, Stuntsman of the Year' has been given to Shamitabh stuntsman, Amit Grover. Since Amit wasn't there to receive the award, Akshay said that he'll personally be going over and giving the award to Amit. Wow! That is such a brilliant move, Akshay!
