SidNi OS : A new beginning
*My exams have made me rebellious , so I am taking multiple breaks from studying and writing alot more which I was so sure would happen😆 It is not a typical love story but I am hoping you all will appreciate it! :)* Enjoy the story!
"Ahh!" she yelled as she was about to fall down. A pair of hands held onto her , she smiled timidly as her eyes closed at once.
She had been drugged by her own boyfriend but she was unknown to this fact. But being in a stranger's arms all dozed off wasn't a good sign as well.
But not when the stranger was a guy who loved you truly , cared for you more than anyone , respected you more than even your parents. Siddharth was one such guy but his love was kept only for one girl ,Roshni.
She didn't reciprocate his feelings but he was unfazed by that , for him she was his priority , even though she didn't even care about him , he was as good as non-existent in her life. They had been best-friends but some things fall apart as do some relations!
Siddharth picked her up so softly as if she was a petal and would be damaged by his hands. Her closed eyes and the small smile never leaving her features made him appreciate her innocence a bit more than before.
Siddharth had a very good rapport with roshni's mom , he worked in her coffee shop. She knew he loved her but had never let roshni know this as she wanted her daughter to realize herself what a gem she was getting.
He knocked on her house door and Durga Devi opened it. He smiled at her and pointed at the sleeping girl in his arms. She smiled back at him and asked him to come inside.
He immediately shshed her , not wanting to wake her up and make her scold him again. He and roshni had always fought because she had been told by her so-called boyfriend that Siddharth wasn't a good company to keep.
Tucking her up in her bed , he was about to go when she held onto his hands and his heart skipped a beat hearing her say his name.
He leaned in closer in an attempt to listen what she wanted to say when he heard her whisper again ,"Siddharth." His heart swelled with happiness.
Kissing her forehead gently , he left her room and came out with a sheepish smile. She thought about him when asleep and this was enough to make him happy.
"Siddharth!" DD spoke keeping a hand on his shoulder ,"Did Kunal do this?" she asked worried for her daughter. She had never liked her boyfriend but had never said so not to offend her.
He just nodded meekly , the smile on his face turning to a frown. "As long as I am there , you don't need to worry mom." he spoke holding her hand.
She thanked him and hugged him goodbye. As he left she couldn't help but think how her daughter was choosing the wrong person when the right choice was so clear to make.
Next Day
"Roshni , get up baby. Have this lemon juice come on!" DD came in to give her the glass , she kissed her forehead waking her up.
"Mom , what happened yesterday?" she asked still dizzy because of last night. Before DD could reply , roshni's phone beeped and she got a message from Kunal.
Reading the message she was shocked ,"Baby yesterday , Siddharth drugged your drink and took you somewhere. Are you fine? Please reply asap!"
She looked at her mother in shock , DD raised her eyebrows seeing the look of alarm in roshni's eyes. She showed her the phone and DD's confusion was replaced by unadulterated anger.
"How cheap is he?" DD questioned her daughter for the first time about her boyfriend. Roshni was surprised , her mom was scolding Siddharth , her mom's favourite Siddharth?
"Mom , so finally you got to know na how cheap and downmarket Siddharth can be?" roshni spoke with rage. DD didn't want to hear any longer and a slap came up on her face.
"How can you be my daughter? Are you so much blind in love? Can't you see Kunal is lying , he is using you?" DD asked almost losing hopes of getting her sensible daughter back.
"Mom you slapped me for him? He has used me!" roshni said disgusted and disturbed by her mother slapping her.
"If he would've used you , would he have brought you here safely? Would he have cared to ask me in the morning to give you lemon drink? Don't you look at his eyes? The love he has in them for you? The way he looks at you?" she asked worried for roshni.
Roshni stomped off to the terrace and sat their trying to process whatever happened just now. Was Siddharth the better man? Was kunal lying? Why would her mom slap her without a reason? Does he love me?
The last question was haunting her , if he loved her why had they always fought? She remembered everytime they talked , they had always fought regarding kunal and his behaviour.
She looked across and felt him seeing her , she rubbed her eyes and he vanished. She was hallucinating Siddharth? Maybe she was still hung over.
Finally she grinned as a happy memory came to her. The first time they had met , they had hit it off almost instantly , they had started becoming friends but that was when kunal interfered in her life and made everything complicated.!!
Flashback
"Hey what's up? I am Siddharth , work for your mom here." he said forwarding a hand for handshake. She looked at him and observed he was insanely hot.
She didn't know why she was thinking all this , she had a boyfriend but who leaves a chance to stare at an extremely hot guy.
"Hello?" he waved his hands in front of her and passed a dazzling almost murdering her. She came out of her dreamland and said ,"Hi , I am roshni."
"I know afterall you are very famous in college as well." he said matter-of-factly. She was surprised to hear he was in her college.
"Why aren't you so popular? I mean with the kind of looks you have , any normal girl would fall for you and drool over you." she exclaimed much to her own displeasure.
Why was she praising a nobody now? But he was cute so she was allowed one chance to flirt , wasn't she? But she wondered why he wasn't flirting back?
"Oh I don't need a normal girl , my girl will be special." he had said winking at her and she was positive she had a pink tinge on her cheeks.
"Uhmm , describe her." she said and that was when he heard that his shift was starting again. Roshni made a sad look and he waved a bye to her.
"Uhh roshni , she would be just a synonym to light!" he spoke before vanishing inside. She had tried to contemplate his words alot that day but couldn't get it.
Present
"Oh shit , he meant me? Roshni=light!" she yelled out loud and heard a giggle. She looked up to see him sitting right beside her.
"Since when have you been sitting here?" she asked irritated and flushed too as the guy she was thinking about was there and eavesdropping on her.
"Since you were learning English , precisely synonyms." he said bursting into laughs and she wanted to punch him hard for laughing on her.
"Oh please I was just thinking about our first meet." she said and his laughter wavered off. Roshni bit her lip realizing what she spoke in a daze.
He was highly shocked , if her speaking his name half-drunk , half-asleep wasn't enough now she was thinking about him totally in her senses.
"Oh really and what were you wondering exactly?" he asked in a cocky tone almost angering her but then her mom's words came back to her.
"Don't you see the look in his eyes , the way he looks at you?" the words rang in her mind and she immediately looked in his eyes.
And she was blown by what she saw , even though he was teasing her , making fun of her there was a hope in those eyes , hope that she understood as love for the first time in her life.
"Roshni? Where did you get lost?" she heard his voice and looked away as he was smirking at her as she was gaping at him like a hawk.
"Uhh was just wondering if you were right about kunal all this while?" she asked and she saw a flicker of hope pass in his eyes.
He didn't have words to say , how had she suddenly spoken and realized this was something he couldn't understand.
"Roshni I know we'll again fight on this and you won't believe me but kunal drugged your drink yesterday , I saw him do that." he said knowing very well he was starting another fight but still feeling that maybe this new sense of realization in roshni would change her mind.
"I don't know whom to believe but one thing I know is that I want to trust you this time." she said speaking so truthfully that she herself was surprised.
Siddharth was stunned , he couldn't believe this. "Let's go and end this chapter once and for all." roshni said giving him one more shock.
"Roshni don't you think you are taking the decision in a haste? I mean you love him right?" he asked keeping a stone on his heart during the last words. She saw the change in his expression , he was visibly heartbroken.
"No Siddharth , the thing is everytime I have been listening to kunal over you and things have always gone wrong. This time I wanna listen to you and this is for my betterment trust me. I feel I no longer love him or maybe never loved him at all."
Roshni said those words more to herself than to him and suddenly she lifted her head up and inspite of himself he couldn't hide the small smile on his face.
She grinned back feeling so happy seeing him smile just by a sentence of her. Roshni dragged him to break up with kunal.
As they reached roshni was quite chilled out while Sid was going crazy. "What if he does something to you? Are you sure of this?"
His constant questions made her go mad so she just held his hand tight , he looked wide eyed at her. "You're there na , to protect me?"
Her saying this was more of a belief than a question and Sid just nodded positively and said ,"Always!" Her smile grew wide hearing his words and her confidence went a notch higher.
"Kunal , I am breaking up with you and this is for trying to use me and making me fight all these years with my bestfriend!" she said abruptly seeing him with his gang of friends and landing a slap on his cheeks.
Siddharth was shocked but more than him one more person was angry and shocked. Kunal wanted to kill roshni and went ahead to slap her back when he felt a hand grabbing him.
"Don't you even try." Siddharth glared hard at him and he went away with roshni. As soon as they reached outside he started laughing hard.
Roshni couldn't gauge the reason behind his laughter so she asked ,"What did you find so funny? Excuse me , I just had a breakup?" she said teasingly.
He laughed harder and now even his eyes were watering thinking of that. "This was the best and most weird breakup I have seen."
"You just barged in on him and slapped him saying I am breaking up?" he said controlling his laugh , his words came out incoherently and she couldn't understand half of his blabbering but seeing him laugh in such a carefree way she felt great.
"You love me?" she asked again out of the blue and he turned to her , his laughs almost subsided now. He turned towards her and whispered ,"You want me to propose to you now?"
She had goosebumps on her hands feeling him so close to her. She was not able to reply anything and he said ,"I do love you very much roshni , have loved you since I saw you first but first I want you to feel the same for me and I am sure one day you will."
His reply made her want to deny him saying she loved him now but she wanted to be sure and to make him feel her love through her gestures.
Siddharth smiled , she did feel something for him if not love , he had understood this much yesterday when she had whispered his name like a prayer in her sleep.
Roshni kissed his cheeks at once and said ,"A new beginning for us!" he cupped her cheeks and kissed her forehead promising this would be the beginning of a fairytale.
