Anil Kapoor's darling daughter did myriad roles - from playing the girl next door in SAAWARIYA to a chulbuli Delhiite in DELHI 6 to a fashionista in AISHA or a feisty lady in RAANJHANAA or for that matter stepping in veteran actress Rekha's shoes by starring in the remake of KHOOBSURAT. But except RAANJHANAA none really clicked for her. For RAANJHANAA also, it was Dhanush who walked away with maximum accolades hardly leaving anything for the actress to relish. But going by the famous saying Bhagwaan ke Ghar Der Hai Andher Nahi' it seems good times are here for Sonam Kapoor! Her recent successful film NEERJA, that not only earned her rave reviews but also gave her the first solo BO hit, has proved it rightly that her journey to turn a topnotch actress has begun. The actress, who was almost written-off for not being the BO spinner, has shut her detractors and completely changed their viewpoint now.
In fact, Sonam NEERJA Kapoor is now absolutely eligible to join the league of Deepika Padukone, Vidya Balan, Kangana Ranaut, Priyanka Chopra who have proved their mettle with their respective films (PIKU and GOLIYON KI RAASLEELA RAMLEELA, KAHAANI & THE DIRTY PICTURE, QUEEN, MARY KOM).
Today, these actresses are celebrated to have portrayed their womanly spirit in their films. And now Sonam Kapoor too has joined this bandwagon with NEERJA. Both, her role and performance are being lapped up by everyone. Perhaps, this may fetch some awards (much-desired and much-awaited) for Sonam, who is close to the completion of a decade in a year.
