Watched both movies; it is Anushka in NH10 for me.

Neerja is a better story, that too based on a beloved girl, so there is huge emotional quotient. And then, rest of the casting was so good, Sonam can get away with average acting. People wanted this movie to work as in our minds it is a tribute to Neerja. Sonam gets credit for improvement in her acting, but not making the movie work. Neerja made the movie work.

Anushka on the other hand in NH10, has the entire weight of the movie on her shoulders. Yes, Deepti Naval is there and the supporting cast is good, but its 80% Anushka.

Anushka in NH10, she seriously deserved an award, but obviously someone else is constantly favoured.
