Oscars 2016: What if Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone were cast in The Martian, Mad Max: Fury Road?
Imagine The Revenant with Shahid Kapoor in the lead? Or Akshay Kumar taking on Brad Pitt's role in The Big Short?
If Bollywood ever remade this year's Oscar nominees, we want these stars to play the roles!
Only a few hours more for one of the most prestigious award shows on this Planet Earth to happen...Only a few more fours for us to decide whether someone has really cast the Oscar Repulsion hex on Leonardo DiCaprio...
Though 2015 was generally a weak year for Hollywood, with blockbuster outnumbering the better films by miles (a trend we will most probably see in this year as well). However, that hasn't stopped it from producing some fine gems like Spotlight, Straight Outta Compton, Brooklyn etc, while also delivering enjoyable blockbusters like the new Star Wars film, Jurassic World, Mad Max: Fury Road, the Avengers sequel etc. From those who loved their fun animated, there was Inside Out, Minions, The Good Dinosaur etc.
However, only a chosen few can get into the elite list of the Oscars, and though we may have loved some of the above flicks, we have to a put a heavy stone in our hearts when we realise not every fave flick or performance of ours are going to make the final cut!
Well, only 8 films have been chosen and we will know in a day who is the best among them. If Bollywood ever decides to remake these films here, here's our wish-list for the actors whom we want to see in those roles...
Shah Rukh Khan as Matt Damon in The Martian

If there is any actor to fill in Matt Damon's who has a likeable personality that appeals to the Jabra Fans' and a tendency to use dry wit, while at the same time make us feel for him...it has to be King Khan!
Akshay Kumar asBrad Pitt, Ranveer Singh replaces Christian Bale, Ranbir Kapoor as Ryan Gosling and Nawazuddin Siddiqui as Steve Carell in The Big Short

If this Wall Street scam story was made in Bollywood, Akshay would be perfect to take on the more seasoned role of Brad Pitt, Ranveer Singh's quirk-ability would perfectly work with what Christian Bale did in the film, while Ranbir Kapoor could bring the smooth charm of Ryan Gosling's role. And we can't look beyond Nawazuddin Siddiqui to take on Steve Carell's role!
Irrfan Khan as Tom Hanks in Bridge of Spies

A talented actor playing the role of another talented actor...Irrfan would be perfect to make the protagonist an everyday man, and yet bring the sense of heroism in him!
Alia Bhatt as Saoirse Ronan in Brooklyn

Going by what we have seen in Highway, we are sure Alia Bhatt could bring in the vulnerability that Saoirse Ronan infused into her Oscar nominated performance!
Richa Chaddha as Brie Larson in Room

Richa Chaddha was terrific in Masaan as the woman not willing to let down her spirit even when the system and her family tries bring her down. It was that role that give us confidence that Richa nail it if Room was ever remade in Bollywood.
Sanjay Dutt as Michael Keaton, Emraan Hashmi as Mark Ruffalo, Sonam Kapoor as Rachel McAdams, Randeep Hooda as Liev Schrieber, and Pisyush Mishra as Stanley Tucci in Spotlight!

Spotlight is a film that doesn't need stars; it need actors. Sanjay Dutt would do well as the formidable leader of the group, while it'shigh time we have seen Emraan Hashmi worthy of his talent. With Neerja, Sonam Kapoor has proven her acting mettle and Randeep Hooda could bring in the smoking intensity in Liev's underplayed performance.
Shahid Kapoor as Leonardo DiCaprio in The Revenant

Shahid Kapoor has proved in Haider that he is willing to undergo radical changes to get into the skin of the character, and we are sure if he will definitely look forward to sink his teeth in what is Leo's latest salvo at the Oscar bid.
Salman Khan as Tom Hardy and Deepika Padukone as Charlize Theron in Mad Max: Fury Road

Salman Khan is perfect to bring the required masculinity and we just love to see him perform those daredevil stunts. As for Deepika, she will rock in anything! Won't she?
Tell us what do you think of our choices...
