Ranbir Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor – old friends!
Newcomers Ranbir Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor have been close friends for many years.
The families of the two debutants of Saawariya have had long association. Their grandparents and parents have been family friends. And now, Ranbir and Sonam are carrying that legacy forward.
What is strange is how their lives have been through same turns.
Ranbir and Sonam went abroad to study in the same year though not to the same country. He went to the US while she headed to Singapore.
Later, the two were brought together by fate when they both ended up being assistants of Sanjay Leela Bhansali during the making of Black . And then they both got to make their acting debut in the same film.
Over the years, Ranbir and Sonam have become such thick friends that they can be their worst with each other and not care a hoot.
"When together, we can be our idiotic selves and not be conscious of it because we have known each other so well. Ranbir is a very good friend. And I am happy that he is my first co-star. We were at ease with each other while shooting," Sonam is quoted as saying.
Ranbir returns the compliment.
"We've grown up together. She's such a good human being and apart from that she's such a talented actress," Ranbir says.
