Asian Age:Meet Ravanas mother Kaikesi

Veteran TV actor Pratima Kannan is elated to make her mythological debut as Ravan's mother Kaikesi in the mega series Siya Ke Ram. The senior actress who has done innumerable roles in both films and television shows, never got to play a mythological character until now. Speaking of the role, Pratima says, "The fact that the role has never been explored before on TV attracted me to it. I could not let go of such a colossal character. Kaikesi is a very strong character. She has her share of power and dominance. Honestly, even I did not know the character existed even though I followed all versions of Ramayana on the tube. For some reason it has never been shown in the previous versions of the epic. I have been following Siya Ke Ram closely and really love the way the makers show unseen facets of the epic. This character too is being depicted beautifully by them. I am enjoying playing it and I hope it establishes a strong connect with the viewers as well."

Since the character has never been essayed before on television, the makers have worked meticulously on the look to make it larger than life and memorable. "The creatives have given it all the necessary shades and touches to make it look authentic and true to its flavour. The look is absolutely mesmerising, very graceful and well crafted," adds the actress.

The show is being shot in Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad and Pratima's enjoying her time away from Mumbai. "I am having a wonderful time. I desperately needed to get away from the city and this is proving to be a work cum pleasure trip"

she is a wonderful actress , but CV missed a big point, Kaikesi was extremely beautiful, Ravan's looks came from her. [ no offense to the actress, she has personality but not so great in the looks area, plus the costume and ornaments given to her or not exactly doing anything to enhance her]
