I loved Sonam in the film and felt that she was perfect for the role ! the way she got ready in the morning, to her conversation with her parents & Shekhar ETC ! I thought she was beyond perfect !!
the growth in her acting is amazing from prem ratan to Neerja ... what a huge jump !

👏

however there were people around me at the cinemas who thought otherwise and said maybe someone else could have acted a tad batter than Sonam 😕😕

what do you guys think ?!!

P.S
I will never understand how people could laugh at the villain in Neerja ... I understand his accent was something else but they could at least respect this hijacking incident by not laughing !

Also Neerja Bhanot was truly something else ! what an inspiration ! Thank God this movie was made ... it gave us such an amazing opportunity to know the story of this hero better
RIP Neerja

Even though some ppl may say about any other actress, i cannot imagine any one else but sonam as neerja. she owned the character. her crying scenes were realistic and we could feel the horror.

were ppl loving at accent? in my screen they laughed only once throughout the hijack. at the singing song part

I think sonam was apt, she acted well and physically she resembles neerja a lot and looked the age. People laughed in your theatre at hijack?😕Some kids in the theatre I saw actually started crying specially seeing the terrorist khalil.

i completely agree with you ... i can't see anyone else in that role now ! no i just heard them saying her face was not as emotive as it could have been ... like the old lady who lost her grandson and Shabana got maybe more emotions out of people ? (if that makes sense )

and they kept laughing at khalil and how most of them spoke in that heavy accent ... when they were like "open door" or how he was trying to talk to police through the radio found that super insensitive :(

honestly she would play the role well but maybe she won't look as convincing as sonam and maybe her dialogue delivery won't sound similar to Neerja either ... thanks for your opinion anyways 😊

Neerja's brother had said that they would have had believed Sonam to be reincarnation of Neerja if she was born an year later or so

She has an uncanny resemblance to her and so is her voice! Like WOW!
Also she gave full justice to Neerja and played her part with full honesty and dedication! Really gratifying to see her emerge as such a strong performer in film.. Blew me over

Having said that had the film been fictionalized or was not based on a real story then any leading actress could have been better than her!

No.
Sonam looks so much like Neerja and has the right personality to play her.

Kangana was meant for Tanu, Deepika for Piku, PC for Jhilmil, etc. And Sonam was born for this role.
