So is Shilpa Anand anything like the dil-break- er of Dill Mill Gaye? Oh no, Ridhima's too much of a Miss Goody Goody. Okay, so I wear salwaar kameez too, but I also like clubbing and partying. What's been your most memorable experi- ence while on a shoot? (After a thoughtful pause) I'd say the Salsa dance I did with Karan Singh. It was an on-the-spot improvisation. It was easy because Karan and me are good friends. (With a laugh) He has a wicked sense of humour. Isn't Dill Mill Gaye almost like a sequel to Sanjivani? I admit that certain scenes are pretty sim- ilar to Sanjivani but people seem to like it. (With a smile) I guess luck's on our side. At the same time I believe that anything good always works. And if my serial can inspire more young people to take up medicine, there's no harm if it's seen as a sequel to Sanji- vani. The country needs more doctors. There's a twist in the kahani now. What's your take on adoption? I think foster parents should never hide the facts from their children. Rather they should make them understand that they are a part of the family and as much loved even if they've been adopted. Dill Mill Gaye may be your first TV serial but you're not new to acting, right? Yes, I've featured in the Hindi movie, Iqraar and shot for a Hinglish movie too, though Wow is yet to release. I've also done a Telugu movie and a Kannada one too. And I must have around 50 commercials to my credit, from the Coca- Cola ad with Aamir Khan to Nerolac paints with Amitabh Bachhan. So you've always wanted to be an actress? Actually I started out as a soft- ware developer. My sister Saakshi pushed me into becoming an actress. Watching Saakshi act in South movies I decided to push my luck too. Now I have a sister in reel-life too, Sunaina who plays my pyari behna Anjali in the show. When do we see you in another movie? I'm open to any interesting offers from established directors. I'd love to play a superwoman, a female Hrithik Roshan. But till something really exciting comes up I'd much rather do an 'A' grade serial than a 'B' grade movie. Frankly, right now there's no time to think about anything else. It's Dill Mill Gaye 24 x 7. Tell us about the man who's stolen your dil? (Laughing) That's a secret. All I'll admit is that there is someone special.
