It's really funny that Pakistan who had awarded Neerja Bhanot Tamgha-e-Insaniyat posthumously, isn't interested to see how she made that sacrifice so many years ago. The honour bestowed on her, respects individuals who show incredible human kindness. They had even prosecuted the culprits of the hijack after they were caught and yet they felt the need to bar the film. Sonam Kapoor is thus really disheartened at this stand of the country and made it apparent through a series of tweets.
Sonam writes, "Extremely disheartened that #Neerja isn't releasing this Friday in Pakistan. She was awarded by them & I hope they will salute her again." She also tries to quell Pakistan's fear of being shown in bad light by saying, "She saved Pakistani lives, and I can guarantee that Pakistan hasn't been shown in a poor light, I really hope and pray #Neerja releases." But she hasn't lost hope. She is convinced that when they realise the whole world has found it fair, they would let it release in the country as well. She posts, "When #Neerja releases worldwide and people see how fair the film is, I'm hopeful that it will result in a solution to a release in Pakistan."
We hope Sonam's belief comes true and everyone in the world watches this true story of a woman who was bold in real sense of the term.
