Neerja is an upcoming 2016 Indian biographical film directed by Ram Madhvani starring Sonam Kapoor in titular role and Shabana Azmi and Shekhar Ravjiani in supporting roles. The film was produced by Atul Kasbekar under the banner of Fox Star Studios.^[1] The film revolves around the actual hijacking of Pan Am Flight 73 in Karachi, Pakistan specifically focusing on flight attendant Neerja Bhanot. This film shows how the young flight attendant fought for the lives of her passengers. The film is scheduled for release on February 19, 2016.

After, I have watch the trailer I was shock because Sonam did really good job on the trailer. I really like the way the trailer and the songs are in the promos, The movie will be a surprise success I think. As I can see in this forum, Sonam has a lott of fan followers on the forum, I am going to do a prediction.

The budget: 25 crores

My prediction :

First Day: 6 crores

First Weeknd 18-20 crores

First Week: 26 crores

Lifetime : 40 crores

Vertical: Average 😊

Thanks for doing a projection for Neerja! I hope it knacks the 50 cr tag for females solo releases in India. Not only for Sonam Kapoor, but also for Shabana Azmi ji, the second heroine of the movie. It would be awesome for the future.😳

& i also hope it cements Neerja Bhanot s memory pan India & in the world

In honour of Neerja, I really want this film to do very well. But I know that I will hate every moment of Sonam getting credit for the success, which is what is going to happen.

They are going all Neerja Neerja Neerja for promotion's sake. Let the film be out and become a success, it will all become about Sonam Sonam Sonam. The thing is that they cannot promote a film on Sonam's name, it won't get any opening. Hence, use all emotional dialogues and Neerja now but then eventually at some point, we will all hear Sonam taking all the credit for the film's success, which is going to be very unfair because not many people will watch the film for Sonam's sake and the trailer shows that Sonam is alright-ish, nothing that great an actor.

I wish the movie get huge sucess also I am good fan of Shabaka Azmi too.

yall will deal with this. When your fav gets credit for her movies even she is just a flower pot for like 15 seconds, it is no issue. Sonam does & that is a problem. Why her hard work should not get recognition, i will never understand.

Yall really need to understand what this movie is about for her. The Neerja update thread is full of articles on that. Twitter the same. Even Pinkvilla posted about this. Of all Bwood actors, Sonam is one of the few who never fight for credits for any role they do. That is not her style. Only blind hatred can overlook that. Especially for this movie.🥱

& Mr AFG, i forgot to add: the budget including promos is 21 Cr, not 25 Cr. Bling came out with the numbers from promotion day one. I dont know yet for sure if it stays by this number but they also should distribute Neerja accross about 1200 screens😳

Really? Do you know who my favorite is? Do you know for sure if I appreciate actresses in flower pot roles? Do you know if I am a BLIND hater?

Talk some sense .. I have no favorites and I just like when actors perform well in certain roles. So, stop ranting bullshit.
