Sacked!

Barely two weeks after Harshad Chopra entered Amber Dhara as Akshat, he has been sacked from the show. Apparently, the actor had signed the show without informing the producers, Vikas Seth and Siddharth Kumar Tiwari, about his prior commitments. When the producers got to know of it, they immediately showed him the door.

Harshad Chopra
Ali Merchant, who plays Bharat in Balaji's Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii, has replaced Harshad in the show.

Says a source in the production house, "Harshad had a two-year contract with Tony and Deeya Singh's Left Right Left which forbade him to work with any other producer. But because he had a tiff with them, he went on to sign Amber Dhara which obviously, did not go down well with Amber Dhara's team."

On Tony and Deeya Singh's complaint, Sony TV heads immediately took action. After a long meeting, the producers of Amber Dhara and the channel examined the issue and finally decided to sack Harshad.

When contacted, Producer Siddharth Kumar Tiwari confirmed the news. "Yes, we have replaced Harshad Chopra with Ali Merchant."

When asked about the reason, he said, "Harshad was with us since the inception of Amber Dhara and he was cordial on the sets. But he did not inform us about his contract with Tony and Deeya Singh. As soon as we came to know about it, we had a meeting with the channel, and we decided to replace him with Ali."
