There was a time when all heroines had one dream - to become a yash chopra heroine.

In recent times some new directors have upgraded the value of heroines in the celluloid like Vikas bahl's Queen or Shoojit's Piku , Anuraag Basu's Barfi, Stories By Rabindranath Tagore in Epic channel, Aanand L rai's Tanu Weds Manu or Pradeep Sarkars Mardaani.

So who has taken that most most desired director tag after Late Yash Chopra?

Anurag Basu, Shoojit Sircar, Sujoy Ghosh. Coincidentally all three are bengali..😆

Btw I was never a big fan Of Yash Chopra's heroines. They were ok, but nothing great.

SLB. He really pays attention to his female leads in terms of performance and look. Manisha in Khamoshi, Ash in HDDCS and Devdas and Rani in Black really stood out, they were the protagonists of those films, the films were about them. But ever since Sawariyaa I've noticed he focuses more on the men and the films are now from the guy's POV.
