I find no logic..in one fasting and the impact is seen on other...so if the lady fasts..the gentleman's Ayush increases😃😛.....
May be this lady - gentleman is a system similar to a system..to which newton's 3rdlaw of motion applies...
For every action..there is equal and opposite reaction and these act on two different bodies. So the act of fasting of lady yields the output of long term gaurantee of the gentleman😆..........
Howeever..its a personal issue....afterall its an issue of loved one's life......but it makes no sense in celebrating KC (by fasting only on KC) and keeping the husband on fasting everyday.(by not cooking properly everyday)😉😆😆
.

😆 😆 Good one Myth.. Btw if wife fasts and stays in shape, there is somewhat long term gaurantee that husband will be still be around....her.😉 But do you know when husband fasts or doesn't eat at home wife puts on weight.😉 Wives end up eating leftovers because women do not like to throw away the food. 😕 I cook but it doesn't mean we are going to eat at home that day with our ever changing schedule and my effort is wasted.😕

Fasting can get what we need is our belief. Monday fast or Santishi ma fast, Tuesday, Full moon etc. and then various fast like Janmashtami, Shivratri are celebration fasting.

Today is Karwachauth and soon we Ahoi mata fast for us. My question is

Most of these fast are still due to myth? have we forgotton the true reason for them? Some one was debating with me saying it is a torture for Indian women or a way of man showing his importance over women?
Why I called it a myth as just came across a website stating the significance of this fast, which I had no clue. I only knew it is done for husband.

No how many of knew this?Ofcourse it is not the case today at all. but Are we really drifting away from our culture by adopting new methods. Is it ok to follow them in tradition method. Is fasting imposed on us or we continue to see it as a part of our self?

https://www.karwachauth.com/origin-and-significance.html

Its like why do people goto temples / Mosque / Churches /GuruDawaras.... its all on one's believe. If one has stong believe that fasting works and makes them happy then why not?

Yeah and I agree, skipping meals is a health benefit, so go for it but do not hog the next day😃. I like if someone is fasting in home, sabu daney ki khicdi, sabu daney key vadey, different type key attey ki puri / alu ki sanji ...divine and welcome break from dal/roti.😆😆

I think it's all belief... it's your faith...

If you are questioning fasting... then you may as well question religion while you are at it lol

it's the same logic... you have faith that God does exist... you have faith that there is a higher power

similarly, ppl have faith when fasting.. that this vrat will make them pure or it will show to God their adoration or it will make them a more religious person... I think as long as you have faith in what you are doing and a good reason for doing it...no one can stop u adn ur not wrong...

I mean i can start a new vrat... imma fast every Friday for all the animals I know. I mean i could do that... because I would have faith that fasting friday's would help every animal... i guess ppl won't believe me but still it's the same idea...

and I think a vrat like Karva Chauth...
I think it's a beautiful event... because it really shows the love in a relationship.
I love it... love to see my parents in the moonlit night...really sweet...

and I think that every women should do it because it is in fact showing love for her husband...
I mean if u can say I love u to ur husband a billion times to express ur love... fasting.. if u have faith in it... is jus another way of expressing that love...

I could logically say that in my opinion... saying I love u a million times is wrong, waste of time, and derogatory.... where as KC is much more dignified and romantic...

thoguh I don't hold that belief lol.. i could say that...

I think it all comes down to belief.. u believe in it's rite no matter wat others say.... u don't believe in it, it will be wrong no matter what others say...

hey if a person or woman want to do"vrat" than wt is big deal in it .if they feel happy in that , than there must be no problem with other .u do whatever u want or think ,u donot want anyother interfernce .but when it come to custom or culture people want to interfere n push there views or belief on other , i don't knw why?if a woman want to pray for her husband than why should other have a problem? i think this "vrat"n "ritual" are our root of our culture.
