Why on earth is Aishwarya for Jazbaa here???? She was actually appreciated for the film.
"Aishwarya, seen on screen after a long hiatus, has a pivotal role, which she fits to perfection. Confident, erudite as a lawyer, she portrays the anguish of a single mother searching for her daughter with equal ease and aplomb"-New Indian Express
"Aishwarya is in a character that isn't close to anything she has done before. She looks gorgeous and gutted as the scene requires her to be"-DNA
" Aishwarya Rai Bachchan with her 'initially-rusty-later spellbinding' performance, carries the film on her shoulders"-Bollywood Hungama
"Clearly the film belongs to Aishwarya. She manages to make Anuradha believable from the very first frame. Even though there are moments when she has to amp up the drama quotient, screech, scream, show her theatrics, there is a sense of confidence with which she builds up her character. We relate to her pain not only because she's lost her daughter, but her constant struggle to suspend the very values and beliefs she upholds is what makes Anuradha endearing."-BollyLife
"Aishwarya digs into her meaty role as if she was starving for a character like this all these years. Her striking face shows a vast range of expressions and you experience her anguish, helplessness and frustration with a committed participation. She appears confident and involved and the more time you spend looking at her, the more you realise how much you've missed her on-screen."- 9xe
"Aishwarya Rai-Bachchan is wonderfully convincing as the distraught mother and a professional in a dilemma. Kudos to the actress, who after her five-year hiatus, chose this gritty drama for her comeback"-Sify
"Rai is superb, a perfect piece of casting, and her intensity is laudable"-IndiaWest
" Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's 'do not mess with the mother' attitude is just kick-ass. Her brave act gives the film the ballast it needs"-MovieAdda
"Aishwarya Rai-Bachchan coming on screen after GUZAARISH makes a strong statement with her impeccable performance. She balances well the role of a tough lawyer and a mother. It is she and Irrfan Khan who move the story forward. Their intensity catches you off guard and their underlying love nudges at your heart. "-Glamsham
"It is difficult to think of anyone other than Aishwarya Rai Bachchan for the role of female protagonist in the movie. Aish is simply stupendous in the film and has ably displayed myriad number of emotions in the movie, making her character look so believable. Whether be it as the grieving mother who is going through the trauma of her missing daughter or the poised, confident lawyer defending her clients in the court...Aish has portrayed her character with equal amount of finesse. There couldn't have been a better comeback film for her as Jazbaa offers her chance to portray gamut of emotions and Oh Boy! Aish doesn't let the opportunity slip away from her."
" Both the mothers(ash and shabana) have put in stellar performances"-TheWeek
