Don't get the big deal about this...Scottish kilts are technically skirts and have been in use for centuries. Has it in anyway diminished the masculinity and sex appeal of Scottish men?? Androgynous men will look effeminate even in leather jackets straddling a Harley, clothes do not maketh a man but his personality when he wears them.
