Manik & Nandini - Stars & Fireflies 116

How much time do you need to fall in love? A day, a week, a month, a year or an entire lifetime. I hear people saying they analyze their relationship over the years and then decided it's love but love does it take that much? It takes just a moment; that moment when you see sparkle in his eyes; that one moment when you see her smile and there is the feeling, the realization says yes this is love; he/she is the one I wanna grow old with.

One moment and our life changes for good but what's important is how beautifully we are able to sustain that one moment for the rest of our lives. Falling in love is easy but it's tough to keep falling in love with the same person every day of your life with a little more madness. Building a relationship takes efforts, longing for each other, the need for each other and an unwavering trust which has traveeled through rocky paths of life.

Manik and Nandini's relationship in a very short time had seen some scary lows and amazing heights; they were together now in a space where words were not needed to talk. Their silences spoke; they fit with each other like a beautiful puzzle. They both were broken by their circumstances and they both healed each other with their love. And now they are about to start the actual journey of life which is going to be a cocktail but what will be the constant is their togetherness and love for each other.

"OMG! I just don't believe what I heard." Nandini exclaimed as she along with everyone was still trying to digest the fact that Fab5 got their first breakthrough. "Yes! Nandini it is happeneing." Manik said with stars in his eyes and never ending smile playing on his lips. He cupped her face "You believed in us Nandini, you had faith that this concert will be the big thing." He suddenly lifted her and twirled her saying "your faith rocks Nandini Murthy, you are my shining star."

"This calls for celebration guys." Alya exclaimed and everyone nodded when they heard DJ's voice "This celebration is on me." Manik frowned and said "Nandini tel her if she is throwing the party I am not coming." Suddenly the happy atmosphere was turning into a warzone; Nandini was tensed and she looked at DJ who gestured with her eyes that she got this under control. "Well Manik this party is not only for you it's for Fab5, Abhi and Nandini. They all have equal share in this success. So if you love them you will come, in an hour to the mansion." DJ walked away with Damini winking at Cabir and Nandini leaving a big smile on everyone's face.

Everyone was sitting or rather spread out everywhere in Manik's room. Alya and Dhryv were cuddling on a bean bag. Mukti and Abhi were busy in their own world on a couch and Navya for whom Nandini got a special permission from the rehab along with Cabir was sitting in a corner trying to sort the mess in their lives. Manik and Nandini along with Damini were walking to his room with food and beverages, "why is there so much of silence?" Nandini said as they entered. What Manik saw before him shocked it to the core, "guys agar tum logon ko yahi karna hai toh apne apne bedroom mein jao. This was supposed to be a friends' all party not a couples koochi coo session." Manik said sarcastically leaving everyone shocked. "hey matarani!" Cabir facepalmed imitating Navya as everyone looked at him with amusement. "lo kaun taane maar raha hai aaj, the Manik Malhotra jo miss Nandini Murthy ke saath hamesha kisi na kisi corner mein hi milta hai. Now I guess you must have realized Manik how do we feel when you are busy romancing 24*7. BTW don't you get tired?" he chuckled leaving Nandini and Manik embaressed as others burst out laughing.

Everything seemed bliss for all of them, after a long night it was finally dawning for these people. Things were still messy but they knew how to clear it up, they knew it will take time, somethings were changed forever for some while some were on their way back to home; it was a long way but they all were their way back home. Cabir pulled out another beer can and was about to gulp it down when someone suddenly pulled it from hand. "What is wrong with you?" Nandini's angry voice stopped him and startled everyone. Manik switched off the music and asked "princess what happened? Why you took beer from him?" Nandini glared at Manik and said "is that even a question Manik? He is living on one kidney if you all forgot; he is the drummer of Fab5 which is strenuous enough and this lifestyle of his will surely take him to grave." She gave everyone a reality check. She truned to Cabir and said "Cabir things have changed for you, you cannot be reckless now. You know the doctor said you can lead a normal life with lot of precautions but this is not right." Cabir looked down in shame as he knew Nandini was right.

"Nandini you should become your manager." Alya said while everyone looked at her. "Come on guys I am right. I mean we are never careful about ourselves but look at Nandini she is always there to care for us professionally and personally. She is our guardian angle." Alya said but before she could say anything else Damini pitched "Manik and Abhi to the study right now." And walked away.

"badi maa anything serious?" Manik asked as he had never seen her like that. Damini sighed and asked them "Are you both contemplating on Nandini being Fab5's manager?" abhi and Manik looked at each other and said "yes what's wrong?" Damini smiled and said "I thought so. She will be your manager; she will tour with you; manage your schedules; your music; your personal lives in short baby sit you but where is her future in all this Manik?" and that was it Manik went blank; he was all the while thinking about Nandini being with him 24*7 but forgot about her goal.

Damini put her hand on manik's shoulder "Manik she will never say no to you. But she is an excellent musician herself and this concert gave me a new insight that she can manage Malhotra industries too very well. Her management skills are excellent. All she needs a little training and trust me she will be able to manage everything. And Manik you have to trust her that she will never neglect you or fab5 no matter what." Manik heard everything and walked back to the party.

"hey Manik so we are thinking to announce Nandini as our manager." Dhruv said. Manik looked at Nandini and said "No Nandini will not be Fab5's manager." Everyone including Nandini was shocked. "Manik why? Did I do anything wrong? Did I hurt you anywhere?" Nandini asked with a choking voice and tears ready to break free..

Manik ran to her wiping her tears said "shh! Who said that? Nandini you are the best thing to have happened to me. You are my biggest achievement; you are my life. The reason I am saying no is you love me too much and even I love you too much. You gave me the wings to soar and fly high with success; you are the wind beneath my wings and I want to be the same."

"Nandini I want you to fly high and I want to be the wind beneath your wings. You are a talented musician Nandini and someday I want to walkin to a Mrs. Nandini Malhotra concert and proudly announce she's my girl and I am her man. I learnt it from you that love is all about being selfless then how can I be selfish. Yes I am a little selfish cause I want you to be a great musician and the future MD of Malhotra industries cause I know you can. Will you do it for me please."

Nandini was too overwhelmed with his words; she was crying but the tears were telling the tale of her happy state. She found herself floating in sky with his words and when she couldn't utter a word she fused her lips with his not caring about the world around her. She sucked his lips with utmost love and respect and he reciprocated the same, sucking her lips with all his love. Everyone around them just went aww with the love that they had for each other as they kissed. Their kiss was as pure as the first cry of a baby; first drop of rain; first ray of sun and the very existence of mankind. All of them stood their worshipping a love as pure as the god himself.

After a while reality hit Nandini and she boke the kiss and hid herself in Manik's chest and all went crazy laughing. "waise Manik Mrs Malhotra and all haan?" cabir got in his teasing mood. "off course dude I just can't wait" Manik said excitedly and all laughed and Nandini turned a little more red. Soon the party was again flowing in full swing and they enjoyed their night to the fullest.
