But Cyrus Broacha was eliminated on Saturday from Jhalak Dikhla Jaa – Dancing with the stars-- much to the dismay of all. His last performance was the best he had done to date. Unfortunately, just when he had begun to take the competition a little seriously he was voted out. He was the first to admit it, "To be honest, I did not expect to be out today. I gave myself another week or two. I had just begun to enjoy the dancing. But I must say that it was a fair decision and the public has been fair in its voting so far." This was a serious Cyrus for once. But how can Cyrus be serious for long? So here are some of his funny lines: Who's going to make us laugh now? "My son has been in training and he will replace me now!" On been announced as the eliminated contestant he asked: "I want to know if I will get the Sony Braviara and if so do I also get conveyance as I have a small car and it will not fit in my car!" Do you have any message for the viewers? "Yes, that Louisiana is not a new state of India and that Bobby Jindal has not been elected as a governor in India!" Would you like to say anything to the viewers? "Yes it is a very sad for India so tomorrow is a holiday!" Have you learnt enough dancing to take the floor at Parsi weddings now? "No I am afraid that every Parsi wedding the leg-pulling will start and they will announce that now Cyrus will dance solo!" For all the funny guy act that Cyrus is famous for, he has a heart of gold and he will be missed sorely on the sets. He was the life of the party and the party will have to continue without its mainstay. Even producer Siddharth Basu looked dejected at his elimination. The contestants will miss him and so will the crew and every soul on the sets as Cyrus treated everyone alike: he spared no one! Jhalak Dikhla Jaa… may be quieter without Cyrus but Sandhya Mridul and Mika are vying to take over the mantle from him. But like Shiamak Davar put it: Cyrus is a Bawa, nobody can be mad like him." |
