Opinion: Dumbledore -- Don't Ask, Don't Tell
Would someone tell J.K. Rowling to please be quiet and let her characters do the talking? What I find objectionable is Rowling's decision to deliver the Dumbledore bombshell not within the pages of her books, where it belongs, but by casually announcing it in a public gathering. If Dumbledore had wanted the world to know document.write(flat('yag saw eh ')); he was gay, he would have come out in the text. [more...]

Mike Newell
Goblet of Fire director recalls Potter pic experience
Now that Deathly Hallows has been released, we wondered if author J.K. Rowling happen to let slip to Goblet of Fire director Mike Newell any of Harry's ultimate fate, like she did with some of the film's young stars. "No. Absolutely nothing. I asked her and she wouldn't [say a thing]. She was very funny about that," Newell recalled. [more...]

The day I met J.K. Rowling
When I found out that I had won two tickets to see her in Toronto through a random online draw, you can guess that I went nuts. At 10 a.m., Rowling waltzed onto the stage and took a seat in a large brown chair with a copy of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows in her hands. Screams from 2,000 contest winners from every province of Canada erupted. [more...]
