Quantico star (and ELLE cover girl!) Priyanka Chopra announced she is co-producing and acting in a new sitcom called It's My City. The story revolves around four "mostly stable women" who share an apartment in Mumbai, so if you like GIRLS, chances are you'll be a fan of this one too. There's just one catch: it's only available on the Hulu-like video mobile appnexGTv every Tuesday and Friday starting January 22.

Chopra will play the show's landlord and friend of the four main characters. In a statement, she reveals that the story takes inspiration from her own experiences living in Mumbai. "This is a contemporary story featuring real conversations and situations," she says, "There is a huge parallel that can be drawn to my own reality-of a young girl coming to Mumbai to literally make my dreams come true. I hope the stories are something the audience will identify with."

After winning awards and applause for her role in Quantico and Bajirao Mastani, Bollywood actor and producer Priyanka Chopra is co-producing and acting in an original mobile sitcom. Titled It's My City, it revolves around the lives and loves of four girls who share an apartment in Mumbai.

The bi-weekly sitcom will be launched exclusively on the digital video mobile app nextGTV in 14 parts, from Jan. 22 onwards. Chopra, who will also appear in the show as the landlady and friend of the four protagonists, has said that the story mirrors her own journey as a young girl trying to establish herself in Mumbai.

"This is a contemporary story featuring real conversations and situations," Chopra said in a statement. "There is a huge parallel that can be drawn to my own reality " of a young girl coming to Mumbai to literally make my dreams come true. I hope the stories are something the audience will identify with."

The sitcom is being co-produced by Chopra's production house Purple Pebble Pictures, which the actress launched recently to promote new talent in Hindi and regional Indian cinema. In the coming year, it plans to release films in Marathi, Bhojpuri and Punjabi.

This is also Chopra's first venture into digital entertainment. ""Digital is the new frontier of content and I'm diving right in! The thought behind It's My City is progressive... to go where the young audience has moved and to connect with them in a style that they can identify with, and for me personally, to engage with them in a whole new way."

It's My City will stream on nextGTV every Tuesday and Friday.

Great. Plot sounds interesting. Congo and good luck to her. I like the ideas that she is picking. Girl roommates and struggle is so much fun. I have lived it and I do miss those days sometimes. Excited for the series.
