The difference between Ranbir and Ranveer is that Ranbir was always overhypted and media so as industry people claimed he is a superstar like the Khans. In Ranveers case there was never such a hype like Ranbir got. His hype in the media was more about his persona than him as an actor. Now they raving about his acting. IF it was Ranbir instead of Ranveer god knows how many articles would have come out like defeating the King Khan and he is definetely better than them and Kjo would again start who is the best Ranbir or the Khans. Someone who is totally overhyped gets a much bigger backlash if it doesnt turn as it should be. So the only people who will overreact the most are those people who wait for Ranveer to fail that was the case after DDD bc it was not a 100cr movie and they said if Ranbir couldnt manage BV than Ranveer definetely will flop with BM especially with a Clash. To see who is a superstar we need to wait at least 10 years but what i can say about Ranveer he is a full package an Entertainer so he will always be in your face.
