RECAP: Sandhir visit Sanyukta's parents to tell them the good news. Anju and kishore are both happy, but Ankit is jealous. He threatens sanyukta and gets a good punch from randhir. When sanyukta is scared for their future, randhir reassures her.
Randhir comforted her as she sobbed out her pain in his arms. She was scared...scared for randhir, scared for their baby. Yet, she knew...with randhir around, no harm could ever come within miles of her. Tired from all the crying, she soon dozed off.
About two hours later, she was awakened with a familiar sensation on her forehead. She looked up to see randhir kissing the top of her head and looking at her affectionately. She smiled at him and got up from his lap.
"Aise kya dekh rahe ho randhir" she asked, a faint smile playing on her lips. "Yahi dekh raha hoon...k meri wife kitni beautiul hain. Aur abhi abhi mujhe phirse realize hua k main tumse pyar karta hoon. I love u sanyukta" he said. "I love too randhir" she replied "lekin ab kya yehi baithne ka irada hain?? Ghar agaya chalo!" she giggled and pulled him into the house.
7.45 PM, SHEKHAVAT HOUSEHOLD
"Sanyukta...!!! Aur kitni der?? Chalo jaldi warna tumhaari dayan mujhe hi blame karegi!! Tum sunn rhi ho?" hollered an impatient randhr from the drawing room. They were getting ready to go out for a dinner celebration with their friends, and randhir had been waiting for sanyukta, pacing up and down for the past 15 mins.
Randhir turned around and his breath hitched in his throat. For there was sanyukta, standing in front of him looking gorgeous in a sari, trying to hook one earing in her ear while the other dropped beautifully down her lobe, looking like a molten drop of silver had frozen in all its perfection, beautifully complimenting sanyukta in her black and silver sari. Randhir slowly moved towards her and taking the other earing in his hand, he slid it effortlessly into her earlobe. "u look beautiful..." he whispered huskily into her ear, making her blush profusely. He held out one hand for her; she took his hand and elaborately, he led her to the car.
They reached the venue, which Vidushi had messaged everyone, in exactly 15 mins. Getting out of the car, Sanyukta began looking here and there for the others while randhir instructed the driver to park nearby. Very soon, a high-pitched squeal reached her ears.
"SANYUKTAAA!!!" screamed vidhushi, who had seemed to appear suddenly out of nowhere. She came closer to sanyukta and the two embraced warmly. Parth and randhir too shared a hug, and parth moved to hug sanyukta while Vidhir shared a friendly handshake.
"Baaki sab kaahaan hain vidushi? Aur invite kis kis ko kiya he tumne?" sanyukta asked
"Arrey woh sab aa rahe hain. Hamne yaha outdoor table book kiya hain toh socha k yahan khade hote he, phir sabse milke ek saath jayenge. Aur maine na yoyo, esther, sahil, sonia (his wife), aur..."
"Aur kya??"
"Aur vardhaan sir ko bulaya hain"
"Whatt!!! R u serious vidushi!! Omg...itne saalon baad unko dekhungi! Omg...thank u sooo much vids u d best!" sanyukta screamed.
"Woh toh main hun...thank u enyways. Waise, maine unko party ka reason nhi bataya hain. Bas itna bataya hain k kuch spl hain" said vidushi. "Ab tum apna bomb khud phodo unpar" parth added, laughing.
Suddenly, sounds of excited talking and whoops of laughter filled the air. They turned, to see all of their friends heading towards the restaurant. They had all bumped into each other at the gate, and entered together, laughing. They saw vidarth and sandhir and the four had a happy re union with lots of hugs and laughter.
"So...mrs shekhavat...tell us. Kyun bulaya hain hame yaha?? Whats the surprise?" asked vardhaan sir, later, as they were seated on the table n waiting 4 d food to arrive. "Well sir, woh actually baat esi hain..." she hesitated. "Go on sanyu...tell them!!" said vidushi excited. "Sanyukta...jaldi batao. Warna vidushi itni excited hain k i'm sure woh khud hi na bata de sabko!!" winked parth.
"Woh...baat aisi hain...(sighs). Guyz...m pregnant" she said, finally.
For a moment, nobody spoke. Then suddenly every one broke into a congratulating spree, the boys laughing and congratulating the couple while the girls rushed to hug sanyukta. It was a moment of great excitement for everyone there since Sanyukta was the first one among them to achieve this great feat. Sahil's wife sonia had not been there with them through their journey at FITE nevertheless, she had bonded very well with the entire group and was very happy for sanyukta. Vardhaan sir remained silent, though...
"Sir...aap itne shaant..." remarked randhir.
"Sir...SIR aap RO kyun rahe hain???" exclaimed a horrified sanyukta as she saw a tear trickle down his cheek. Everyone else ws startled too...vardhan sir never expressed his feeling openly lyk dis!! But they all settled down n waited for him to speak. He looked up,and wiped the tear away.
"Randhir...sanyukta.." he began. "Randhir..sanyukta...meri aur niharika ki story toh tum dono jaante hi ho. Niharika ka hamesha se sapna tha mechanical engineer banne ka..bilkul sanyukta jaise. Aur main...pehle toh bohot ladta tha ussey, uski sapne todne ki koshish karta tha. Par pata nahi kab ladhte jhagadte...hame ek dusre se pyaar ho gaya. Itna pyar, aur itni trust...itna vishwaas tha usey mujhpar. Aur ek dinn isi vishwaas k wajah se uski jaan chali gayi. Par iss story ko kuch aur bhi hain, jo tum dono nahi jaante. Jab main aur niharika relationship me the, ham hamesha apni future k bare mei sochte the. Especially niharika! (laughs). Woh toh pagal thi...hamara esa ghar hoga...esi balcony, vese parde!! Aur...bacche. Usey hamare bacche chahiye the she was crazy over small kids. And i had promised her k we'll have our own child someday. But unfortunately...uske uss sapne ko main poora kar pata, ussey pehle hi woh...
Jab maine tum dono ko pehli baar dekha tha, tab ek second k liye mujhe toh aisa jaise main khudka past dekh raha hoon. And no, (looking at sandhir) it is not during that interrogation after the blast in the lab. I had seen the two of u when u both met for the first time-near my question board(looks away). Uss dinn mujhe aisa laga k kaash...kaash mujhe ek mauka mile meri aur niharika k past ko bhulne ka...kaash main uska yeh sapna kisi tarah pura kar pata...aur aaj tumne woh mere liye kar diya. Tum dono ne mujhe ek chance diya hain k main meri aur niharika ki story, hamari life phirse jee paaun...
Sanyukta, tumhara yeh baccha mujhe meri niharika ki yaad dilata hain. Iska dhyaan rakhna sanyukta...bhagwaan tum dono ki jodi hamesha banaye rakhe aur tum dono ko dher saari khushiyaan de. Now if u'll excuse me, I need to go spend some time with niharika at her resting place...i'll catch up to u kids later." So saying, he got up from his place and made his way out, the tears flowing freely from his eyes now.
Sanyukta looked up at randhir, tears tingling in her eyes too. Randhir quickly took her in a side hug as tears flowed down her face, his own eyes red with tears. There was not a single dry eye in the group.
Finally, after what seemed to be a pretty long time, Vidushi gathered up the guts to speak. "Guyz...lets get back?? We were celebrating the day,remember?? Aur sanyukta...kya tum bhi rone lag gyi...aaj ham CELEBRATE krne aaye he!!" she said.
"Vidushi's right guyz..come on, aaj ka dinn sanyukta k liye bohot special hain!! Kuch interesting krte hain!! So tell us sanyukta...kesa lag raha hain? I mean...how does it feel to know u r going to become a mother??" sonia asked.
Sanyukta lifted her head up from randhir's chest. He rubbed her shoulders with his palms and pushed her hair back with his palm.
"Well..." she began. "Its a really great feeling...i mean, knowing u r going to be a mother to a child...not just a child, a human being which is the product of ur love...its..its just amazing!!"
"guyzz dekho khana agaya...enjoy!!" Sahil chirped and they had a lot of fun that evening with food, drinks, and a bunch of crazy friends.
2 HOURS LATER
Everyone was huddled together in Sandhir's house, and slightly tipsy as well. They were there because they had unanimously agreed to a game of truth and dare, just like the good old college days. They sat in a circle, sanyukta-randhir-esther-yoyo-sonia-sahil-vidushi-parth-sanyukta.
Vidushi produced a water bottle from her bag and the game began.
The bottle landed first on sonia and she chose truth. Since yoyo sat to her left, he was the one who asked her the question.
"Haanji sonia ji..." he said. "Toh aap hamare sawaal ka ab jawaab dengi. Ji thik hain. Ab hamare PYAARE dost sahil ne toh kabhi hame aapki lovestory k bareme bataya toh nahi hain. Toh aaj aap hame bataiyein, kisne kisko propose kiya tha." He asked. Sonia blushed. "Arey...koi lovestory hain hi nahi! Hamari toh simple typical maharashtrian arranged marriage hui thi" she said "esa sabko, including hamare parents ko lagta hain" sahil added, mischeviously. "Par ham dono usse pehle do saal relationship me the. Aur maine sonia ko propose kiya tha" he said, making sonia blush even more. Sonia took the bottle and spun it as whoops of teasing laughter cut through the air. It landed on vidushi and she chose truth too. Sahil asked her the question.
"Okay toh miss vidushi kumar...or shall i say soon to be mrs kashyap?? (vidushi blushed) Aap aaj hame batayengi k aapne parth ko pehli baar kab mili. Matlab, we all know k tumdono village task k waqt mile. Magar pyaar kab hua?" he asked,
"Well...pyaar toh mujhe usey pehli baar dekhte hi ho gaya tha." she blushed. "Jab usne mere pair par moch aane par mujhe help ki thi...tab"
The fun and laughter went on for a couple of hours more. Finally everyone decided they'd had enough and decided to bid goodbye to the couple.
After everyone left, sanyukta was about to move into their room to go change. Just as she was going to enter the room, randhir came in front of her and stopped her.
"Itni jaldi kahaan wifey...raat toh abhi baaki hain (winks) chalo truth or dare khelte hain" he said, an impish crinkle in his eyes.
"Not now randhir...i'm tired..." said sanyukta. "Oh come on sanyu...one game...please?? We wont spin the bottle...u choose. Please sanyu..mereliye??"
He knew she couldnt ever resist him when he got that cute. She agreed. "So chose sanyukta...truth? or dare?" he asked
"Hmm...dare" she said, after thinking a bit.
'Thought as much...mujhe pata tha tum dare hi chunogi sanyukta' he thought. Now comes the catch.
"Okay sanyukta..ur dare is...KISS ME" he said.
"What? NO ha randhir...not nw". She knew pretty well that as soon as she kissed him, they would never stop at that. Things would escalate into a makeout session pretty soon and she would get no rest that night. Besides, they had to go to office the next day. She said as much to randhir but randhir was randhir. Halfway through her sentence, he grabbed her wrist and pinning her down on the bed, gently kissed her lips. She smiled.
"Meri baat kabhi nahi maanoge na tum?" she said, blushing. "Nahi...agar maanta toh yeh (points to her stomach) kyese hota??" He said, impishly. Sanyukta blushed and hid her face into his chest. He smiled and hugged her back. Sleep took over them as the moon and the stars played witness to the cute couple sleeping, drenched with love for each other
