Ch 11 : His Honesty
"When i was in college, I fell in love, i started loving my best friend without knowing she was in love with someone else." Rey told her, and what amused him more, was his own feelings. He wasn't feeling sad or hurt while talking about his past anymore. He wasn't feeling pain while taking about the girl he loved. Does that mean he had moved on? He question himself, but was too confuse to search for a answer.
"Aap abhi bhi unse pyaar karte ho?" Taani asked him, in low tone while praying to her god to not to make her face the heart break, she wasn't ready for it.
"No. Long time back, I realized she was never mine." Rey answered her, looking straight in to her eyes.
"Oh! Then why are we talking about it? It was your past, when it doesn't matter now, lets not bring it present. But i appreciate your honesty. Thanks." Taani said to him with smile.
"But i want to tell you everything, It's better you hear it from me then someone else." Taani nodded at him.
"And that girl was Kriya. She was my best friend since childhood. I know, its awkward but it was truth." Rey told her, and this time his revelation shocked her, she wasn't expecting the girl to be her sister-in-law.
"Kriya bhabhi?" Taani asked him, as much as shocking it might be, but she appreciate his honesty. Her respect for him grew.
"Haa, but now, there are no such feelings in me for her. I respect her as my brother's wife." Rey told her, taani blinked her eyes in assurance. It was too much too take in, but she was glad that atleast they talked about it. They sat there for some more time, gazing into each other's eyes. Rey let go of his pain, and embrace his relationship with his wife whole heartedly.
"So?" Rey trailed off, taani smiled shyly.
"Tell me something about you-" Rey whispered softly. And the rest of the time till sleep took over them, they spent in talking to each other, getting to know each other which was first step in their relationship. They were filling up the communication gap between them. Starting a their relationship in true sense.
- 2 Months Later
"Taani!" Rey called out for her as he entered inside her cabin. Taani looked up from her file and smiled at her husband, ever since he had accepted this relation and told her about his past, there is no looking back for them, they are more comfortable with each other and living the life of a married couple, not two strangers living in a same room.
"Yes, Boss!" Taani chirped happily, making him smile, what can he do? He just adore his wife's bubbly nature.
"Aren't you done with your work yet? We are getting late for dinner date-" Rey said to her, her heart skipped a beat, it will be their second date, but official one. Since their first date was in their room's balcony, a candle light dinner as there was power cut in house.
"Give me 5 minutes. I'm almost done." Taani said to him, she hurriedly finished her work.
"Lets go." Taani said to him, she picked up her hand bag and they both left from there, hand in hand.
