It was well into the night when Rudra was finally off duty. He was so glad to be back at the BSD. He missed the action and adrenaline pumping through his veins during his assignments and cases. Now that he was fully healed, nothing was holding him back. After a long day's work, Rudra was finally heading home. However, when he reached he found the entire mansion to be dark. No light came from any of the windows. This was very odd. He parked the car and went to the front door. As he slowly opened it, he found that the lights were off in the house. Was nobody home? Had they all gone out somewhere? Careful as to not run into anything, Rudra stepped inside, closing the door behind him. He had only taken a few steps when he saw something move from the corner of his eye. When he turned, he stopped dead in his tracks and took in the sight before him.
Parvati was walking around the house with a lit candle in her hand. She was lighting small candles around the living room to bring some light into the area. He glanced around and found a few candles lit in every room, including the dining room and kitchen. Curious as to know why she had done such a thing, Rudra slowly walked up to her. However, before he had even touched her, she had sensed his presence and turned around, surprising him. She gave him a small smile, which illuminated brighter than usual thanks to the candle that she held between them. She looked radiant, and it was enough to take his breath away.
"You're home," she said happily.
"Yeah," he looked around. "What happened? What's with the candles?"
"Oh, the power went out."
"Why didn't you ask bapu-sa to turn it back on?"
"It happened after he left."
"What do you mean? Where did he go?"
"He and maa-sa were invited to Major Singh's house for dinner," Parvati turned and continued lighting the candles in the living area. "He said something about reminiscing the old days with his dear friend and-."
"Wait. They've gone out. When are they going to be back?"
"Late. Maa-sa told us to not wait up for them."
Rudra's mind had gone into overdrive, causing him to zone out Parvati. Does that mean they were alone for the rest of the night? Just the two of them? The mere thought sparked the fire within Rudra. His mouth went dry as he watched Parvati set the candle in her hand on the coffee table before returning to him. They were alone, and no one would bother them. Finally! They had a chance. However, as much as Rudra wanted to take this chance, he worried about Paro. Would she let him?
Even though the room was dimly lit, Parvati could see his eyes. She could feel his penetrating gaze on her, the brown eyes turning into a molten black. He didn't even need to say anything for her to know what he was thinking. Immediately her mind went to the kiss they had shared that morning and she felt herself flush at the mere memory. Tonight, they were alone as Mala and Dilsher wouldn't return until much later. No one would be here to disturb them. She knew Rudra had been desperately waiting for this opportunity to rise, and secretly she was too. Now that it presented itself, was he going to take it?
They stood in front of each other for at least five minutes, not moving, waiting for the other to react. Finally, Parvati had enough. Realizing that he wasn't going to do anything, she understood that he was still hesitant about how she felt. It looked like she was going to have to make the first move...and she knew exactly what to do.
Parvati snapped her fingers in front of his face, breaking him out of his reverie, and said, "Did you hear me?"
"Huh? What?" Rudra asked.
"Do you know how to turn the power back on?"
"The power? Uhh...yeah I think s-."
Rudra's voice died the second his eyes caught sight of Parvati biting her lower lip. His entire body stiffened as his gaze locked on them. His mind immediately conjuring up the events of this morning. He glanced at her eyes, then back at her lips. Parvati looked so innocent, but the small flicker he caught in her eyes told him otherwise. He wondered if she was purposely doing it. Was she trying to entice him? Because she was doing a hell of a good job right now. Rudra took a step forward so they were only centimeters apart. Parvati had to tilt her head up slightly to see his face.
"You're biting your lip," he said lowly. "Stop it."
"And if I don't?" she questioned.
He raised his eyebrow at her before yanking her hand to bring her to him. She was completely against him without any space in between.
Parvati held onto him by his shoulders and repeated, "And if I don't?"
"Don't tempt m-," Rudra warned.
He didn't even completely his warning as Parvati took her lower lip between her teeth. Now Rudra knew she was purposely doing it. She wanted him to kiss her again, and he wasn't going to let the chance pass. After all, what kind of husband would he be if he didn't fulfill his wife's request?
"That's it!" he said loudly.
The next thing Parvati knew, she was on fire as Rudra kissed her fiercely. It wasn't painful nor was it rough, but it was filled with a longing and desire that had been intensified by her provoking him. His hands slid around her and locked behind her, so there was no room for her to escape. Parvati slid her hands up his chest and clutched the collar of his uniform. But before she could deepen the kiss, she felt him slowly pull back. She opened her eyes and frowned, not understanding why he had done so. But before she could ask, Parvati was suddenly lifted and tossed over Rudra's shoulder. She let out a shocked gasp while he simply laughed and began walking upstairs.
Parvati blushed knowing where he was heading, "W-what are you doing?"
"I told you not to bite your lip, didn't I?" he said in a half serious, half amused tone. "You played with fire."
"Such a jallad! Seriously, what are you doing?!"
"Let's just say I'm taking a note out of your beloved DDLJ. The dilwale is taking his dulhaniya."
"You have gone mad," she laughed. "Let me go!"
Rudra halted at the top of the stairs. Holding her by her waist, he slowly lifted her off his shoulder. She was now in his arms, facing him, her feet not touching the ground. Her arms were wrapped around his neck. His gaze was soft but serious, causing Parvati's heartbeat to quicken. What was he thinking about?
He leaned closer and spoke in a husky whisper, "I will never let you go, Parvati Rudra Pratap Ranawat."
Parvati's eyes widened at the declaration. His eyes emanated the truth in his words. It wasn't just a declaration, but a vow to her that he would be with her forever. She felt herself melt in his arms as the words sank in. Tears pooled in her eyes as she smiled. Was it possible to fall even more in love with Rudra than she already was?
Rudra placed her feet on the ground but didn't let go. He spoke again, "I will never ever let you go."
"Rudra..."
"I won't be able to survive without you nor do I want to."
Parvati cupped his cheek, "I love you."
Those three words were enough for him to understand. Those eight letters told him that Parvati loved him and trusted him. She was his and only his. Without breaking their eyelock, he bend down and lifted her. He carried her to their bedroom, and found a few candles lit in there as well. He shut the door with his foot while she locked it, and sat her down on the bed. Not once had they removed their gaze from one another. Rudra smirked a little as began removing her jewelry for her. With each piece he took off, he replaced with a kiss. His actions were leaving Parvati dazed. Her eyes closed. The only accessory that remained on her was her mangalsuthra, which he knew that she would never take off. Her heartbeat accelerated at an unrelenting speed. She began breathing heavily. It was only when he cupped her cheek that she finally looked at him.
Rudra slowly began leaning in, watching as Parvati's gaze went from his eyes to his lips. She didn't move however, she simply waited. His lips were brushing against hers, but not fully touching. When Rudra looked back at her eyes, he found them closed. He closed his eyes and kissed her softly. Parvati moved closer as her arms wrapped around his neck and kissed him back. That was all the signal Rudra needed. He pulled her closer, as his arms slid around her waist. Gently, Rudra laid her down and began kissing her neck, his fingers working gently to unwrap her sari. As she realized what he was doing her gaze met his, causing him to stop.
Parvati saw he was already breathing heavily. His eyes were glazed with desire, and she knew he wanted her. He silently questioned her, asking if she wanted him to stop, knowing that it would kill him now if she asked him to. But he would do it for her. In response, Paro shook her head. She loved Rudra, and wanted to be his, in every sense of the word. To prove it, she reached out and began unbuttoning his shirt. They kissed once more while they continued to tug away at each other's clothing. It wasn't long before they were laying on the bed with his hands entangled in hers. The red sari, which was once draped on Paro, now lay on the ground along with Rudra's uniform. As his arms wrapped around her once again, her arms returned to his neck, her fingers running through his hair.
Rudra looked at Parvati beneath him. He stared deeply in her eyes and said the biggest truth in his life, "I love you, Paro."
Parvati smiled and stroked his cheek, "I love you too."
That night, while lost in the passionate flames of desire, Rudra and Parvati felt the sweet tenderness of becoming one. The unloved was finally loved.
