Article--Kanch kaul will play Suhana

Kanchi Kaul, best known for her role in Ek Ladki Anjaani Si, will be seen as the new female lead in Star Plus's show Bhabhi. Suhana's character which was initially played by Dolly Sohi and then by Rucha Gujrathi now has Kanchi who literally brings the character back to life. After Dolly quit the show, her replacement Rucha followed suit because Suhana'a character was eclipsed by Gurdeep Kohli, who plays Gitanjali in the show.

After Rucha walked out, Suhana's character was completely scrapped from the show for a while. However, Kanchi will now play Suhana- a young mother of two with modern values.

A source from the channel says, "As Rucha was leaving Bhabhi, Suhana was shown dead in the show. Now the track will be completely changed as Kanchi is joining the show, Suhana's character will be given a fresh lease of life. Kanchi will portray the character in a different avatar altogether."

"Ever since Kanchi left Ek Ladki Anjaani Si we were waiting for an opportunity to approach her. She is an ideal choice for the role. We are hoping that she will give a boost to the show. Kanchi hasn't done anything like this before so it will also be a challenge for her," adds the source.

When contacted, Kanchi says, "I really liked the role as it is completely different from what I did in Ek Ladki…. I have no qualms playing a young mother. Besides, it's a daily soap with a huge fan following."

Kanchi will be wearing pastel hued saris. Currently, the actress is doing her homework by watching previous episodes of the show to get under the character's skin.

Kanchi will start shooting for the show today.
