I agree with the article. I've seen Shilpa's film, and there is absolutely no difference in the way that she plays that character and the way that she plays Ridz, so you can't put the blame on the directors' characterisation. As for the bit about her being a newbie, sure - but what about Sunaina and Muskaan? They are relatively new too, but do a much better job (IMO) of portraying their chars. And the "she's new, has to grow into her char's skin" excuse only applies to the first few weeks...if after almost 2 and a half months the situation doesn't change, then it really has nothing to do with the newbie status.

No offence to Shilpa or her fans 😳 I happen to think she is really sweet and cute; I just can't appreciate her acting...
