Divyanka Tripathi has finally found the man of her dreams. And it happens to be none other than her Yeh Hai Mohhabatein co-starring, Vivek Dahiya. In a private ceremony, the sweethearts got engaged yesterday. In an exclusive conversation with Indian Express.com, Vivek Dahiya shared his happiness and future marriage plans with Divyanka.
Ques: Many congratulations, Vivek. How does it feel to be engaged to Divyanka?
Vivek: Thank you so much. It feels good giving myself the assurance that I will be able to adhere to the commitment that I have given.
Ques: What's Divyanka got to say?
Divyanka is extremely happy. We both are extremely happy. We have finally found the one, the one that we were always in search for.
Ques: Was it love at first sight for you when you saw Divyanka?
Vivek: It wasn't love at first sight. It was an arranged match. We were introduced by a common friend who is also a fellow actor. Then we started looking at each other from a life partner's perspective. We often met after work and eventually started understanding that we are very compatible and similar to each other and we can take it further.
Ques: Is marriage on cards next?
Vivek: Yes. Most definitely this year and that will be decided by our parents. We have come this far. We are going to let our parents take us further. Both our families have met. They are extremely fond of each other. It didn't feel like they were meeting for the first time. We are extremely happy that not just us but even our families have started to share an extremely close bond. All the joking, pulling of each other's legs started from the first day itself.
Ques:What is the one thing about Divyanka that you absolutely admire?
Vivek: That she manages her personal and professional life really well. That she does it beautifully and effortlessly. Sometimes I have to look out for her so that she gives some time for herself to sleep. She can compromise on all those things to balance it out. I feel guilty but it is not something that many would do for their partners.
Ques: Fans are happy that Divyanka has finally found the right man in her life. Any message for yours and Divyanka's fans?
Vivek: I would say that I have seen how fans have been supportive all across the globe towards her. I am still a new entrant. I am a baby in the industry. But I feel that I am making space and room for myself as I go along. All the love and support that have been coming through makes me feel extremely humble. I would request fans to just keep showering that in. We need it especially now. We wouldn't want any negativity around and would do all that we can to keep it at bay as much as we can control it. There are always reasons to take a decision. So please be supportive and nice to us.
Ques: Are both of you romantic at heart?
Vivek: We are. We both have our ways of showing and expressing that to each other. Divyanka is romantic at heart like me. I always thought that I am and I never knew earlier if I would find a girl who would reciprocate in the same manner. But Divyanka certainly is.
Ques: Valentine's Day is arriving soon. Any plans?
Vivek: We will see what our schedules permits and how many days we can spare. We would like to go somewhere ideally.
