A vicious cycle!

That's what mum Neetu Singh thinks of young Ranbir's wish of riding a bicycle. A bike is a strict no-no for the Saawariya actor

Ranbir Kapoor is trying to make the best of his carefree days. Knowing well that he might not be able to enjoy roaming around freely after his debut film Saawariya hits the theatres on November 9, Ranbir Kapoor has asked his parents to buy him a cycle. Is he getting it? No!

While his dad Rishi Kapoor has no problem in satisfying his son's demand, his mom Neetu Kapoor has put her foot down. A source close to Ranbir says, "Ranbir wants a cycle for a long time now. He has been trying to convince his mom, but it's just not happening."

When contacted, Rishi confirmed that he is not averse to his son's demand. "Mere ko koi problem nahin hai (I have no problem) But, Ranbir's mom doesn't like the idea of him riding a cycle or a bike," he says.

When contacted, Neetu confirms and says, "Yes, Ranbir wants a cycle. It could be that he feels that he would knock off some extra calories by cycling. I don't know why exactly he is asking for a cycle, but I have said 'no' to him."

Neetu feels that riding a cycle is dangerous. "That's the only reason why I am firm that he shouldn't ride one," she adds.

Even otherwise, Neetu has been a strict mother. She is known to monitor Ranbir's pocket money and makes sure that it does not exceed a certain amount. Even today, the Saawariya hero is not given more than Rs 200 per day!

"I give him about Rs 1500 per week. Whatever Ranbir needs is taken care of. I feel that too much money spoils the youth. I have seen and heard of many such cases. Ranbir doesn't have lavish tastes. Ranbir needs to earn his own money to have a good life. I don't believe that a son should live a good life from his father's money. How else will he realise the value of money?" adds Neetu.

On Saawariya, Neetu says that she is naturally anxious and a bit nervous as well. "I will see the first copy of the film in the next two or three days. I am not worried that Om Shanti Om is releasing on the same day. Saawariya and OSO are different films. Both will have their respective audiences."

We also asked Neetu on how she is coping with the rumours of her son's romance with Nandita Mahatani (earlier Dino Morea's girlfriend) and then Deepika Padukone (who later is said to have gone back to her former beau, Nihar Pandya). "I don't think Ranbir has time for all these things. He is totally into Saawariya," she says.

awwww, thanks for sharing!! his mom is sooo protective about him even though he's an adult 😳 😳 😳 . and that pic of ranbir with is parents is too cute 😳

He turned 25 last month. DOB-- Sep 28, 1982.

Jo koi bhi Ranbir ke kareeb aana chahe, usse Mamma Neetu se hokar jaana padega😆😆. BTW I hope he has enough money to take his gfs out. Poor guy.

i doubt if ranbirs debut will be explosive likesome previous star sons..hrithik,salman,amir..his dad rishi...even to this day each one of their debuts,the movie and music were magical!..
main shayar tho nahin (swoon)..papa kehte hain(sigh)..haan maine pyar kiya ( oh!those dopey eyes)..ek pal ka jeena(maar daala)

ranbir's and sonam's debut will most likely be similar to bobby deol-twinkle(barsaat),abhishekh bacchan-kareena(refugee),

some other star sons made low key debuts saif,sanjay,fardeen,sunny,zayed..but without star daughters as co-stars..
