pragya came back claiming that she had ownership over abhi and his property...we don't know if this is really true...because she said it was a farce...so in truth and in fact..did pragya and dadi really get abhi's assets legally in her name...or did they get the lawyers to go along with this pretense...so in fact even if alia gets these 'property papers' that pragya signed...will it be legal...if she doesn't in fact own anything...this should be interested...I am beginning to think that pragya really don't have any legal property papers...I cannot remember if she ever showed any papers to anyone or if only the lawyers had a look at them...I will have to go back and rewatch the episode...

Pragya should have acquired the property na? She must have used forgery to get it to her name with the help of Daadi. Laywers that tested it were brought by Raj Bhaiyya. So I guess it's really with them.
And Pragya was able to stop bank accounts etc.. that means she had access to Abhi's wealth.
Let's see!

I have a feeling that even if alia does bring out the papers and trys to chase Pragya out of the house. I think that since Pragya is sill legally married to abhi she cannot be chased away from the house and pragya does have legal rights on his property. but hopefully all of the truth gets exposed during the same time Alia tries to expose the properly papers.

That's a loaded question!

Abhi should be the owner technically. According to Hindu marriage law (laws are different in India based on religion), the person who holds the title owns the property. I don't think they have equal rights on the property even if they are husband and wife by law. It's a patriarchal system. Stridhan is something women can own like jewels, cash, movable assets, etc., but not immovable property. If divorced, wife is entitled to 50% according to 1955 law, I think. Anyone know more??

Did dadi transfer all property to Pragya's name as his wife? I don't know if that's possible. If they're divorced, then she can't get all property, only 50%.

I'm sure CV's made up their own laws!

Yah you are right. The spouse is not entitled to 100% of the property. Buh the spouse will be entitled to a portion of the property. I am not sure about the exact percentage because I am from canada, but if anyone has info then please share

I don't think a wife gets a lot from husband (or vice versa) during a divorce, if kids are not involved. It would be minimal maintenance money Pragya would get from Abhi, which is very little compared to his wealth.
Unless Pragya charges Abhi with some atrocious stuff which she hasn't done, I don't think she would have that much rights.

Through alimony she can get 30% where it starts from and she can demand anything. This is what the lawyer said to Pragz. So as a wife, maybe she's entitled to more?!...

MMS lawyers were Abhi's own arrangement. not for a real divorce.
Anyway I was checking some Indian law websites, so wife gets maintenance, more if she has kids and incapable of self sustaining etc. But she can always claim stuff by charges on husband which can be decided on court.

Makes me wonder, if Abhi is still Pragya's husband, wouldn't the lawyers who checked the papers figure out that? And let Abhi know he is not divorced.. lol. And if he is still Pragya's husband he can divorce her and get some alimony. LMAO..

Whatever EK land marriage laws are.. who knows!

Thanks for checking, Nads! KKB makes up its own laws!!😆

By Indian law she should have gotten 50% of his estate. That's the law, for goodness sake! Maybe the lawyers thought Pragya will bargain so they started low at 30%!! 😆😆

But wife doesn't have equal rights on property while they are married. If Pragya is still married, then she cannot claim it all or 50%. It all belongs to Abhi or whoever he has holds the title on his properties. If they are divorced, then she still only gets 50% not all.

So the current situation defies all laws. It's a mystery!!😆
