Actor Sachin Kavetham, known for films like Pagglait, Bala, Atkan Chatkan, Aap Jaisa Koi, Single Salma, and web series such as Bombay Begums and Pehla Pyaar, began his journey in the entertainment world as a child artist. Reflecting on his early days, he shared, “It all started at the age of four. That was the first time I appeared on television in India’s Best Dramebaaz. Although I didn’t make it to the final round, that experience unknowingly sowed the seed of my journey.”

In 2013, Sachin participated in the dance reality show Dance India Dance and reached the top five. “Even though I was there as a dancer, people enjoyed my mimicry and dialogue delivery more than my dancing. Up to that point, everything was happening naturally — there was no clear plan to pursue acting as a career,” he said.

Moving to Mumbai and Finding His Passion

Sachin recalled the turning point of his life. “In February 2018, I moved from Jaipur to Mumbai permanently. That’s when I decided to become a full-time actor. But I wasn’t very passionate from day one — the real passion developed gradually as I started exploring cinema, especially Hollywood films.”

He revealed how watching actors like Leonardo DiCaprio transformed his perspective. “His early films changed something inside me,” he said. “Over time, many actors — Philip Seymour Hoffman, Timothée Chalamet, Vicky Kaushal, Jaideep Ahlawat — have inspired me in different ways.”

Facing the Real Struggles

Talking about his early challenges in Mumbai, Sachin shared, “When I started, I didn’t know anything — not even how to introduce myself properly. But that wasn’t the real struggle. The real struggle was not having any contacts in Mumbai and not knowing how things worked.”

He recalled spending days moving from one place to another, introducing himself at casting offices. “If they liked your introduction, they’d call you for an audition. But even after performing well, they would ask about your past work experience — which, as a newcomer, you don’t have. So, it becomes a loop — you need work to gain experience, but you need experience to get work,” he explained. “Sometimes, you have to go through hundreds of auditions before getting your first opportunity. This long struggle tests your patience and makes you stronger.”

At 19, This Is the Age of Exploration

When asked about his low phases, Sachin said, “I haven’t really faced a low phase yet. I’m just 19 — this is the age to explore, not to feel low. Of course, there are days when you feel tired and want a break, but that’s just a part of life.”

Recalling his childhood memories, he added, “The first show I watched was Baalveer. I used to enact those scenes all day, thinking everything was real. It wasn’t about inspiration then — it was just fun. Over time, cinema from different industries, especially Hollywood and Bollywood, has shaped me little by little.”
