Now, case against SRK for appearing in liquor ad

New Delhi: A day after an NGO slapped a legal notice on Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan for smoking in public, a case was filed against the actor in a Madhya Pradesh court for allegedly promoting alcoholism by appearing in a liquor commercial.

A case was also filed against the manufacturer of 'Master Stroke Delux Whisky', the brand endorsed by the film star.

Complainant Vinod Kumar Tripathi filed a petition filed before Chief Judicial Magistrate Deepesh Tiwari in Shahdol stating he saw a hoarding of the whisky brand featuring SRK with a catch line – "Success needs a master stroke".

He added that reading the catch line could stimulate people to purchase the brand and demanded action against the actor.

Advertising any of the alcohol or tobacco-based product and its consumption at public places is banned in the country.
