Deepika Padukone, born 5 January 1986 in Copenhagen, Denmark, is an Indian model & Actress. She is the daughter of former badminton Champion Prakash Padukone. Her mother tongue is Konkani. Deepika has a younger sister named Anisha.

Deepika made modeling appearances in print and television advertising campaigns for Liril, Close-Up toothpaste and Limca, receiving many prestigious modeling offers, including brand ambassadorship of the Jewels of India, an annual jewelery exhibition. She hit the international scene when Maybelline made her their new international cover-girl face.

At the fifth annual Kingfisher fashionAwards, for Indian models and designers, she was awarded the title of Model of the Year. Shortly after wards, she was chosen as one of the models for the Kingfisher Swimsuit Calendar for 2006, thus cementing her reputation as a supermodel. She also bagged two trophies at the Idea Zee F Awards in 2006 - female Model of the year (Commercial Assignments) and Fresh Face of the year.

2007

She became noticed by director Farah Khan and it was then that she was cast alongside Shahrukh Khan in the movie Om Shanti Om.

2013 and onwards

In 2013 Deepika turned designer and paired up with noted

fashion designer brand Van Hensen and designed dresses and ladies purses. 2013 proved to be one successful year for Deepika with four hits in the box office and to finish the year Deepika turn writer and held a party for her success.

In March 2014 Deepika held a special chat for her fans on Facebook as a gift and thanks of her love of 15 M fans. To end the year Deepika went back to her school where she met her teachers and her teachers praised her work from the movie Chennai Express and in return said to her hindi teacher that is because of you i know and speak hindi well.

2015 started well for Deepika with her first release Piku gaining box office success in India and internationally, critics praised her performance saying it is her best performance to date.

To end the year she had two of the most awaited movies of the year. Well Tamasha didn't sore well in the box office it did receive critical acclaim for the overall movie and the performances of the lead cast. But Bajiao Mastani despite the release date being shared with Dilwale the movie has managed to do well in the box office and critics praised the movie as being on the best of the year gone by.

Live, Love, Laugh Foundation and All about you from Deepika Padukone

After coming out on depression she wanted to create a foundation in which helped others understand and seek help if they needed it. So on International Mental Health awareness day on October 11 2015 she launched Live, Love, Laugh Foundation.

Deepika can sure make announcement like no other she went on twitter and tweeted #AllaboutyoufromDP and fans and everyone went nuts on what this meant and then she announce that she was launching her own clothing line with mytra; All about you from Deepika Padukone.
