The youngest heartthrobs of tinseltown, Ranbir Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor, tell Aakanksha Naval-Shetye what makes their hearts skip a beat

Young love so strong has never been a part of me, Young love hold on we're feeling it now, Is this the way it's meant to be?

Air Supply may very well have crooned this song keeping teen couples like Ranbir Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor in mind. Barely out of their teens, these newest kids on the block are already set to go down in Bollywood history with their love story, on screen of course. Their debut film Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Saawariya may not have hit the screens yet, but their young love story is already the toast of the town. And while their demeanour may reflect an age-defying maturity, their eyes speak volumes about innocent love and cherished dreams, just like any youngster their age. And even their calm exterior in no way dampens the crackling chemistry, the two childhood friends share. Their comfort level with each other is quite visible, as the two chat about that feeling called love.

Love came knocking quite early on for Ranbir, who says that falling in love was the most amazing feeling. "I fell in love in my school days. I think, there is no feeling like falling in love," reveals the young heartthrob, flashing that million dollar smile. "Love is very important, it's everything," he adds. Sonam too echoes similar thoughts and says that for her too, love is a very strong emotion and totally believes that 'Love makes the world go round.' Talking about her first crush, Sonam reveals that it was "Leonardo DiCaprio in Romeo Juliet. I simply loved him in it," adds the beautiful actress. And her already blushing cheeks take on a darker hue of crimson as Ranbir goes 'Awww...'

And what do the two look for in their partners? "Looks do matter, but what's more important is what they have inside," the two reply in unison. "She should be a good person, good at heart, good at everything..." smiles Ranbir, while Sonam adds, that her partner should be intelligent, honest, have an integrity and 'most important should love me a lot.'

So, do they believe in love at first sight. "Of course, it's possible," says Ranbir, adding, "It does happen. Even though things can't
work out unless you know someone, but when you fall in love at first sight, and if it works out, it is really amazing."

And is Ranbir a romantic at heart? "That you'll have to ask my ex-girlfriend," he laughs. And what is the most romantic thing he's ever done for a girl? "I never used to get time to be with my girlfriend, so I used to go to her place at 7 in the morning and drop her to college and wait till her college gets over and drop her back to home, because that was the only time we use to spend together," recalls Ranbir. As for Sonam, the pretty actress reveals that she's still waiting for it.

The duo — who consider their respective parents to be the most romantic couples ever — hope to have a love that lasts that long too. "They still love each other the same way even after 28 years of marriage," says Ranbir, while to Sonam, 'they always look like a newly-wed couple.'

But what do the two feel about each other? "Well, we've been childhood friends so we do share a very high comfort level," says Ranbir. "Sonam is very wonderful to be with, wonderful at heart, no negative vibes, you end up smiling when you are around her," says Ranbir, who's all praises for Sonam as his co-star as well. "As an actress, Sonam is very hard working, talented and passionate," he adds. Sonam too finds Ranbir a brilliant costar and a supportive boy. "Every mother's dream boyfriend for her daughter," she adds laughing, as this time round, it's Ranbir's turn to take a bow.
