Because the show is swaragini = Swara + Ragini. So to be lead, Laksh has to be pairs opposite ragini. And also, now that Laksh has saved Ragini, may be she will wake up and stop hurting his family...and then he can stop being bevada Devdas.

well according to me, if i see someone on the verge of danger and if i can save him/her, i will also put my effort, without thinking whether the person is my friend or enemy

what laksh earlier tried to do, efforts to kill her, were done in the circumstance where he was totally frustrated and completely shattered

that was a phase which passed by soon

he is the same laksh now, with that pure heart, so he saved her

i think laksh just saved her not 4 sum luv but 4 his family.as kaveri was trying 2 escape by making ragz hostage & shes main culprit.so not 2 let her escape he tried 2 save ragz & moreover he must wanted 2 do the "hisab barabar" where he once tried 2 kill ragz but now by saving her he get off that burden.

if he doesnt save her then what is the difference between him and ragini.

ragini is taking revenge for the pain caused by laksh and his family to her forgetting what she did with him swara and others by torturing them and insulting them. when laksh kidnapped or tried to kill ragini he did all that in a moment of angry but it is unlike her who planned and plotted everything. if laksh wont save her and had left her to die in hands of kaveri then there is no difference between both na.

i really wish he says something like "dont be happy that i have saved u. i did this to show that there is still difference between u and me."
