If it's based on the story then the male lead remains a loner till the end. Female lead goes with her first lover. Prostitutes are I guess shown as someone who tried to lure male lead. But then Bhansali talked about 3 generations in the movie so am not sure.
I don't think the movie is going to create a mass hysteria though people might go to watch it for Ranbir and Sonam whereas OSO is going to be a senseless film yet loved by all like MHN.
