I think it's not you, it's the cvs confused or rather deliberately hell bent on confusing us. I think (persona opinion), they're not officially divorced yet. Even despite the blooper of a third party submitting papers in proxy (not allowed), the divorce can't have come through so quick I think. Also I doubt if RS will show them divorced actually. I think they'll have to have Swara around and for that they'll need to show that she's officially married still. All this is my take on it and who knows, the cvs may be totally on a different path but it makes no sense to show they're in actual fact officially divorced as in on paper.
Shruti, you are quite right, even in case of a divorce by mutual consent, both parties have to appear before the judge, state that they agree for a divorce - after which there is a six month waiting period. A second appearance and confirmation is needed before the decree is awarded. I agree this is not generally known, but the CVs should get the basic facts correct. The law cannot and should not be misrepresented for sake of melodrama!
