Todays central theme was about rising to the need of the hour
When grave trouble strikes

Great courage is called for

We can all be heroes, and all be fighters

A warrior is not just someone who can pick up arms and fight,

Even those who stand their ground and provide help are all soldiers

Today we saw everyone forgetting their fears, their positions, their comforts

And uniting to face an enemy and defend the innocent and the helpless

So today, all were soldiers - Vishwamitra - who could've stayed safe in his ashram, but didn't

Dashratha, who gathered courage to fight his fear and let Rama go

Sita and her sisters who could've gone back to the safety of their palace, but chose to stay and provide relief

Kushadhwaj - it was not his war, not his territory, not his enemy, but he is a Kshatriya

Lakshmana - he is not of Rama's calibre in war, but he will not let Rama go alone

The highlight of the episode of course was Rama and Dashratha conversation

When children grow up, sometimes the roles reverse, the parent becomes the child, and the child dons the mantle of the parent

It is a proud moment for a parent when your child shows you the right path, and helps you to differentiate right from wrong.

Today's scene - the beauty was that Dashratha, in his worry was like a child, and Rama held his hand

And helped him to make the right choice, and send Rama fortified and strengthened with his fathers blessings

"You can be my strength or my weakness, I can go distracted by your worry or I can go protected and emboldened with your ashirwad

To fulfill your promise is my honour "

Whoever wrote that scene - 10/10 to you!

The promise Rama made to Vishwamitra was equally beautiful! Rama is a complete warrior- he has courage, skill, intelligence, and also humility and compassion.

What an ep it was
It was a Ram...Ram...episode
Perfect ending for this week
First few mins and last few mins being the highlight

Offcourse the convo btw Dasharath and Ram
Like u mentioned , Dasharth was the Kid
Ram played father
Ashish nailed it today
That calm smiling face and voice,
Convincing,calming and assuring Dashrath
"U gave word and I surely will fulfill all ur promises"
This line hinting the future😃
Dalipji did very good with his expressions
Kaikeyi was touched too

Vishwamitra was finally satisfied
But still he maintained his Guru image
Lakshman's restlessness and his plea
(Change in wig was a welcome change😆😆)

Then the final few mins of the episode
That song was perfect for the situation
Created that feel for that scene
Ram swift in his horse and Sita singing
That final shot freezing on Ram
It showed that he sensed Sita

Hi Arshi,

Apt title. Everyone was focused on trying to help in the situation in their capacity.

Being very busy lately. I watch the show and read your post but am not been able to reply. You know we have run out of words praising your writing skills from SC to MK and now SKR. Loved your poetry of yesterday and a great post today.

Indeed the father-son convo today was so beautiful. It shows that age is just a number when it comes to wisdom. When the situation demands one has to reach the level of the other person to help ease their worry and calm their hearts. While Rama helped Dasaratha overcome his worry by speaking in a way he would understand, Sita went to a child's level to help them overcome their fear and worry and played ball with them.

Both Rama and Sita are courageous, compassionate and caring.

Today Lakshman also hinted what would happen in future when Rama will have to go away again. Agree with @Mano change in Lakshman's wig is good.

Great acting by all. Manishji as Vishwamitra - chaa gaye.

The only place I found Rama's dialogue delivery a bit off today is when he tells Dasaratha "vachan aap ne diya hai pitaji, toh use mein avashya poorn karoonga". He sounded more like " you gave the promise, i will fulfill it - do I have a choice?"

Fantastic take as always. I loved the episode today. The conversation between Dashrath and Ram, like many here, is my favorite too. Next week looks promising and interesting .

True, it was a ram ram episode

And it will be Siya ram all the way

Ashish is really impressive as Rama, and he has the manmohak chchavi of Sri Rama

Vishwamitra was finally satisfied

The whole of last scene was shot very well, the soothing song with the high speed horse riding scene was high impact.

The show has some great actors, good directors, good writers, all in all well produced!

Aparna, it's so nice to read your post here. Keep posting as and when you can.

Manishji is really impressive, and dominates the screen whenever he is on!

As for the dialogue, vachan aap be diya hai pita ji... I think what Rama was trying to say was to remind Dashratha of the importance of his vachan

I think Rana can sense the reluctance in Dashratha about letting him go, and wants to remind him, that a vachan no matter under which circumstances it was given, must be fulfilled and its Rama's honour to do so!

I think it was more a tone of, you gave a vachan to send me, do you have a choice?

The episodes are really well etched and tight! And the emotional scene are the highlight of this show!

Every episode focuses on a different relationship, and our life - isn't it defined by these relationships - take them away, and there will not be much left in life, isn't it?

Yes Arshics everyone can be heroes if they are able to rise to the occasion. Every drop counts. There is a saying in Malayalam "Annarakannanum thanlayath"( Even a squirrel can do what it can). It is said that it originated from a version of Ramayana written by Malyalam poet thunchath ezhuthachan. It is said that a squirrel seeing Nala and Neela creating the bridge over the sea wanted to contribute. And it started putting small stones and sand to fill the gap between big stones. The army teased the squirrel , but Lord Ram appreciated it and patted its back. it is said the 3 lines on the squirrel's back is Ram's acknowledgement of squirrel's work in creating the bridge. You can read the story here

Many times we stay back what we can do. But we need to understand we can do a lot of things if we try. On most occasions we stand on the bank not willing to venture out, not willing to try because fear of failure paralyze us. We need to understand only one thing is still that is dead body. Everything alive move, change. Our fear can kill us if we dont change direction at the right time, taking right action.

Change is not about one individual, if anything has to change there has to be a collective responsibility. When one person takes charge that person has to be supported than criticized.

If you look in Vishwamitra's ashram there was scarcity of provision. In today's world rather than acknowledging the help given there will people trying to point out the scarcity. This is not there , that is not there.
When Chennai floods happened all I could see was complaining people in TV. Volunteers were reaching but in the situation there were also limitations. And media too instead of showing complaining people they should focus on people coming together which I am sure happened there.

Difficult times calls for desperate measures and everyone has to step in than sit and worry which all the characters showcased yesterday.

As Seeta said, even Vishwamitra had the choice to sit and carry on with his daily rituals, but he thought like a warrior, and went out to seek help after ensuring the safety and security of all local people. Even the 4 sisters, they cannot immediately solve the problems of scarcity of resources and danger of attack, can at least cheer everyone up and spur them into positive action, instead of inaction brought about by fear

sometimes, we all have to rise to the need of the hour, we just have to kickout the fear from within.
