I doubt 880 shows were cancelled. Most of the theatre owners where ppl were protesting actually appreciated police in keeping the protestors away. few shows might have been cancelled but 800 is quite impossible. Ppl are trying to bring this film down with what ever means possible . Ppl are circulating messages in what's app telling story of film. let ppl decide how it is good, bad , ugly whatever.

Dilwale Collectes Very Well On Day One

Dilwale did very well on day with collections of 21.50 crore nett. Although it does not compare well with some of the biggest openers but that is because of less screenings due to the clash and on top it was not even a holiday. The film did put up some big numbers in East India and South India. South India was best especially Nizam / Andhra and Tamil Nadu / Kerala

The core belts of Mumbai, Delhi /UP, East Punjab and Central India were at least 40-50% lower than they should have been due to limited screenings. It had big leads over Bajirao Mastani apart from Maharashtra where Mumbai city and Pune city saw both films put up similar collections.

The film does have scope for improvement as it lost some business due to disruptions in a few states and as long as there is no repeat it should have better collections in the areas. The areas where it has done very well will find it hard to improve. The disruptions which lead to shows being cancelled in many parts also affected business so those areas can make ground if everything is okay on Saturday
