Shweta Salve is all set to dance on the big screen now after sizzling in Jhalak Dikhla Jaa.
How was the experience of dancing at shows abroad?
It was great. Television actors hardly get any opportunity to dance, since dancing is never required in soaps. I was very happy to exhibit my skills as a dancer.
Your career has really shaped up after Jhalak Dikhla Jaa. Yes. It put me in an altogether new league and people recognised me as Shveta Salve. Do you miss being part of Jhalak Dikhla Jaa 2? Not really. Now the film will take up most of my time. Besides, they invited me as a guest performer in one of the episodes. How keen are you to make it big in films? I want to grow as an actor. I have worked in television for nine years now and I think this is the time to take a step ahead. I have done that. Are you saying goodbye to television? At present, my priority is Bhanvraa. We have already begun shooting and for the time being, I won't take up any other offers. I don't believe in doing too many things at the same time. Tell us about your role in Bhanvraa. I'm not supposed to disclose much. All I can say is that I play a contemporary woman who is very progressive. She's like today's Laila and the character also has shades of a number of strong roles enacted by the likes of Michelle Pfeiffer, Jodie Foster, Rekha and Parveen Babi.I too connect to this character as an individual.
