It was another celebration event at the Mehra Mansion. Purab and Bulbul got ready to go to the event. They couldn't have possibly missed this one, because it was their one year wedding anniversary. Purab's bro-cum-friend rockstar Abhi Mehra had thrown a party for them in his mansion inviting all the near and dear ones.
Purab loved his friend Abhi and admired him too. And of course he loved his wife Bulbul to death also. But there was one thing that always annoyed him at the Mehra Mansion parties.
It had become a routine that Bulbul would ask Purab to dance with her, Purab would refuse given he considered himself to have two left feet and then Bulbul would dance with her Jiju aka Abhi and they both would rock the floor.
It's exactly Bullbul and Abhi's dance that annoyed Purab. Not that he doubted either of them to cheat on him, tauba tauba. But there was this bug that bothered him in his head. Bulbul was always rockstar Abhi's fan, even before he met her. And Abhi always had a thing for pretty women. But Purab was 10000% sure Abhi wouldn't cheat on his dearest wife Pragya or Bulbul would cheat on him. The problem Purab had was more with himself. The thing was Purab knew Purab can't dance saala.
Knowing he has to witness the routine of the animated Jiju-saali dance again, he settled in a corner as Bulbul first started to dance and then Abhi joined her. As he watched the dancing couple he didn't want to watch, his eyes fell on Pragya, whom he called Di.
Purab saw Pragya clapping and cheering for Abhi and Bulbul. For a moment he wondered how come she is not feeling the same as he does. After all, her husband is also dancing with "another" woman although it is her sister.
He decided to talk to Pragya over it and got her to a corner. He explained to her his biggest Mehra mansion party problem. He also questioned how can she stay immune to this risque dance that Abhi and Bulbul always do and narrated how bad he feels about not being able to dance.
"Oh poor Purab", said Pragya. "Listen Purab, my husband has dance in his blood, and my sister came out of my mother's belly dancing. How can those two not find each other dancing together? And look at how beautiful they tap their feet. Aren't they gorgeous?"
"But Di, how do you not feel bad about not dancing with Bhai right now?", asked Purab.
"Purab, dance is his space. Like I read books for hours together and your Bhai can't read one paragraph in one stretch. When I read books it's my space. He respects that. You don't know how much he cares about my books in our room even though he never ever reads them. Likewise I appreciate his dance and music although it's not something that I really enjoy. So don't worry Purab, you don't have to be the best dancer on earth to impress Bulbul. She is already more than impressed by you for other reasons. That's why she has married you. Now go plan for your special night. The party will be over soon!". Pragya advised Purab.
"Ey, Purab, what are you doing with my wife behind the pillar?", Purab heard Abhi and was surprised at the hint of jealousy in his friend's voice.
Suddenly he remembered his plans. He expressed his gratefulness to the Mehra mansion for hosting the party and left home with Bulbul.
And as he had planned, the house opened to balloons, flowers and a rich chocolate cake along with other gifts he had got for Bulbul.
Bulbul jumped and danced at the surprise. She was elated and she hugged and kissed Purab endlessly. The kisses ended up in a heated love making session, the best ever so far in their lives.
And while snuggling as she was about to sleep, Bulbul murmured, "Purab you know, Di told me Jiju never gives her gifts and all. He is a rockstar but not at all romantic. But I feel super nice and lucky to have you as my husband. Thank you Purab!!", she kissed him on his cheek and dozed off.
Purab was the happiest man on earth that night.
