Chapter 11

"You have two minutes." she said.

"What? Is this a..."

"I'm outta here" she again turns to leave when he says,

"I know.. I know it was a terrible mistake! I shouldn't have stolen it from you as a revenge... but Bunny we were never friends or lovers... we were haters..." he looks at her.

Her eyebrows creased with irritation making him more nervous, he hated time limits!

"I knew what this bracelet meant to you.. no I mean I didn't knew what it meant, obviously coz had I known it I would have never taken it in the first place, most probably..." he said a little unsure of himself.

She looks at him furiously and then at the watch, he stammers and continues,

"I meant obviously.. and and.. I am returning it to you now because I like you.. no I mean I am returning it to you not because I like you.."

She stares at him with a straight face unable to understand a word he was trying to say.

"Offcourse I like you.. infact I was going to ask you.. but never mind so what was I saying haan I am returning this back to you because I know what it means to you.." he completes his speech.

"I donno it just sounded better in my head" he sighs.

"I am sure it did, and I must have hugged you and thanked you, right?" she asked sarcastically.

"Yes!!" he said happily and comes near her to hug her but she places her hand on his chest and stops him.

"Your two minutes are over!" she spat at him angrily and turns, she walks a few steps away from him but she halts when he comes in front of her.

"Bunny.. Please... try to understand... I never meant to hurt you..." he stuttered.

"Don't say that!" she sighed.

"But I mean it!" he replied instantly.

"You may mean it now Shorty but when you took it, didn't you mean to hurt me?" she asked looking straight into his eyes.

He stares back at her unable to say anything.

"You see we have done things... too many things to even count in our fingers, when we were young! Those were done to hurt each other. We need to accept the fact that we hate each other somewhere down in our heart. Jab tak woh hate rahega this will not work out." She said.

"But Bunny... I... I really am sorry!" he said holding her shoulders.

She shrugs his hands off and he sighs.

"Your sorry is not gonna make up for the hurt that you have caused me!" she said sternly.

"Bunny.. Ok.. why don't you hurt me the same way and... we call it even?" he said desperately.

"What? Are you out of your mind?" she pushes him away.

"No I am serious!" he replied coming closer.

"See, this is the problem between us! We measure everything; everything has to be even between us! But that is not how a relationship works, does it?" she said.

"I don't know what to say!" he answered back raising his hands up in the air.

"Do you even know how much that meant to me? How many nights I have cried over losing that bracelet? How much guilt I had built up inside me that I was careless?! And all this time it was YOU! You made me miserable! You made me think I was irresponsible!" she yelled at him.

"You tell me Bunny what I am supposed to do to make it right! I am sorry!" he said angrily.

"You don't get to be angry! Don't make me the bad guy here!" she retorted.

"No! How can you be the bad guy! You are always right! Hai na? So you only tell me what I should and shouldn't do? Clearly whatever I am doing is wrong!" he said sarcastically.

"True that! What we are doing is wrong! And we shouldn't have done it in the first place!" she said.

"What do you mean?" he asked creasing his forehead.

"We shouldn't have started this...this relationship! Earlier you were in my mind! Now you took over my heart too! But at the end what do I get out of it? Only miseries and pain!" she said.

"You...you want to end this?" he asked in a low voice and looks up to see her. His eyes were teary just like hers; both were trying their best not to cry in front of the other. She keeps mum but her eyes were enough to reveal what she wanted. He could see in it, the pain that he had caused her and he understood her answer.

He picks up the bracelet from the ground and takes her hand in his. He keeps the bracelet on her palm and closes it. He wipes the tear that fell down the corner of his eye and looks up at her.

"Just that you know, it's not only me that has hurt you when we were kids! You too were mean, you too have caused me pain but I had the heart in me to keep those aside and acknowledge this.. this new feeling of love that I felt for you. Maybe I was just foolish to expect the same from you! I should have seen this coming - you will never get over the past." He said calmly and turns around to leave.

Roshni keeps looking onto his retreating figure. He stops near the gate and turns around for one last time, only to find her facing the other side.

"Just that you know, I really never meant to hurt you, Roshni. Neither today nor back then."

"In the end Siddharth, it all hurts just the same." she whispered back and turns around to see him, but he was long gone.

She opens her fist and looks at the bracelet for a second before she throws it in anger. As soon as she threw it, she remembers seeing something written on it. She turns around to find where the bracelet was, but alas she had thrown it in the pool!

"Shit!" she gasped and jumps into the pool.

Khurana House

Siddharth enters his home angrily and shuts the door with a bang.

"How was your date, bro?" asked Kritika but he ignores her and runs upstairs to his room. She follows him up there.

"Are you deaf? Or my voice is not being heard?" she asked jokingly.

"What!" he asked irritably looking at her.

"Your date? By the looks of it I think it went really bad!" she said raising her brows.

"Date? What date!" he pretended.

"C'mon I know about you guys!" she said with a smile.

"She hates me." He said in fury.

"Tell me something new. Everyone knows you guys have hated each other!" she said.

Siddharth stares at her furiously, and she continues, "But I have seen the love she has for you in her eyes too, bro"

"She said it's over between us!" he sighed and sits on his bed.

"Over? Bhai, start hi kaha hua hai abhi?" she joked.

"You know what? Leave me alone! I am not in the mood of jokes right now!" he glared at her.

"Chill brother! I am sure everything will be fine soon! And stop glaring at me like that, I am leaving!" she said n leaves the room.

"Did she even see the bracelet?" he thought. "Who cares whether she saw it or not! I shouldn't have kept high expectations from her!" he said to himself.

It was way past midnight. But she did not care. She keeps on ringing the doorbell. Finally Simran opens the door.

"Roshni? What are you doing here?" she asked sleepily but then notices her disheveled state.

"Aunty.. I... I.."stammered Roshni.

"Are you alright?" asked Simran with concern and then continues, "Why don't you come inside?"

Kritika comes down the stairs to see what was happening.

"Aunty.. I.. need to see S.." started Roshni but Kritika cuts her off.

"Roshni? Thank god you are here! I was waiting for you!" she hurried towards her and takes her upstairs leaving a confused Simran downstairs.

"I need to see him." said Roshni once they were alone.

"Yeah, he is in his room. I'll look out for you guys, but make it fast." said Kritika.

Before Roshni could leave, she said, "He is really very angry. I hope you know what you are doing!"

Roshni nods her head and enters his room.

"What are you doing here?" he asked as she locked the door behind her.

She sighs and turns around to face him, she was dripping wet but as far as he remembered it did not rain. She takes a small step towards him, immediately he gets up from bed and distances himself from her.

"You shouldn't be here!" he said firmly.

"I am exactly there, where I am supposed to be." she whispered back to him.

"Bunny, do not mess with me. I am not in the mood and I don't want to hurt you." he said closing his eyes and controlling his anger.

"Shorty, look at me." she pleaded taking another step towards him. But he doesn't respond.

"Shorty? SHORTY?"she yelled in between her sobs but all she got in return was his cold shoulder.

She strides towards him in anger and grabs his collar firmly, shaking him - "Siddharth, look at me. Please?" she softened up at the end.

"You do not get to "Siddharth" me Bunny!" he said removing her hands off him.

"Siddharth, just look at me once!" she said grabbing his collars once more.

He looks at her finally, and she whispered, "I am not ready to lose you."

"I don't care!" he said moving backwards.

"What do you mean you don't care?" she asked clutching on his arms.

"I was foolish. I think you were right. This is stupid. We are better off as rivals!" he said.

"No. I was an idiot!" she replied with teary eyes.

"Nope. I was!!" he said in anger and pushes her away. Her feet trips over the end of the carpet and she falls down. "Oooww" she yells softly in pain. Siddharth turns and looks at her sitting on the floor.

"Oh God, I am so sorry! I didn't mean to... I told you to stay away from me why can't you!" he said and kneels beside her.

"No, I am sorry Siddharth! I was rude and I won't stay away from you!" she cried clutching his collars in her fist.

"But I pushed you and you got hurt! So it is my fault, I should say sorry." He argued further on and tries to ease her pain by pressing her ankles lightly.

[ FLASHBACK :

"You stupid boy! How dare you break my swimming glasses?! My eyes are hurting as hell!!" she yelled at him.

"You started it first! You tore my swimming costume!" he screamed back furiously.

"It was by mistake." she replied.

"Don't lie Bunny, it was done by scissors!" he pushed her lightly.

"You!! I will eat you alive!" she comes at him angrily and they both fall on the ground.

The trainer comes to their rescue, and pulls Roshni off him.

"What are you guys doing! Stop fighting like kids!" he shouted.

"We are kids!" they stated together and their eyes fall on each other with more fury.

"Say sorry and get over it." the trainer said with authority.

"She will say it first." retorted Siddharth immediately.

"You will say it first!" snapped Roshni.

"Why? Haven't you heard the phrase 'Ladies First'?" he mimicked the quote with his fingers.

"In your dreams Shorty! I will never apologize to you for something which I never did!" she yelled back at him.

"Don't lie! I know you did it! You embarrassed me in front of so many people!" he barked back.

"Aha, I don't need to try. You are an embarrassment yourself!" she laughed.

"You!! I will kill you!" and this time he jumped down her throat.

And you know them... this continued for a while 😉 ]

Suddenly Roshni starts laughing hysterically. He looks up at her questionably, "Sir pe bhi laga hai kya?"

"You remember when we were kids we used to fight that we won't apologize to each other first and now look at us we just can't stop apologizing!" she smiled.

"You are such a big ruiner!!" he shakes his head and keeps pressing her feet.

"Excuse me?" she asked raising her brow and keeps her hands on top of his.

"When I get romantic, you kill the mood - when we fight, you kill the mood... why do you gotta ruin everything?" he explained.

"Actually I fell in the pool and then this apologizing thing that we are doing, it just brought back the memories of the day when we fought in the swimming pool! You remember that?" she asked enthusiastically.

"How can you expect me to forget that day? You embarrassed me in front of the entire world!" he smirked.

"That's not true. There were hardly any people there! And not that you were innocent too! You broke my glasses and I tore your costume! Tit for tat!" she said with a smug smile on her face.

"So, you are finally agreeing that you made that hole in my costume purposely?" he asked innocently.

"Yes I am!" she winked.

"You are such a..." he comes at her, grabbing her hands and they fall on the carpet together.

"Sweet? Innocent? Cutie Pie?" she asks coyly.

He sighs as he gazed her with affection. "Weird. I am just thinking the opposite!" he teased and caresses her forehead with his finger.

"Oh.. you mean Hot? Sexy? Tempting?" she asked in a low voice.

"Ahha... you are nearing it" his face was near hers and she could hear his heartbeats as it was the only thing breaking the silence of the room.

He takes her into his gentle arms and hugs her tight. She grasps his shirt, digging her nails in them pulling him as close as she could. He nuzzles his nose further in her hair and kisses her earlobes. She kisses his shoulder and keeps her chin on them tenderly.

"You know what, it still looks as cute as it was earlier in the days!" pinching his rear end.

His eyes pop up open and he loosens the hug instantly.

"My butt is not cute, ok?" he pouts angrily.

"It is!" she chuckles a laugh.

"Do not call it cute. Never ever!" he raises her chin upwards.

"Ahh..sexy?" she asked.

"That's better." he rubs his nose against hers making her giggle.

"I love you." he whispered staring in her eyes.

Roshni caresses his cheeks and pulls him closer, "I love you too. I want to try this, Siddharth. I was wrong earlier, I shouldn't have been that rude." she mumbled softly.

"Babe, you can't help it if it's in your genes right?" he teased.

She hits him on his chest, "I am serious about what I said earlier. I am not ready to lose you. I can't lose you. Neither as an enemy nor as my boyfriend!" she whispered.

"Did you just call me your boyfriend?" he asked with amusement.

"Maybe" she played with the collar of his shirt.

"Do you know I was gonna propose you-"

"Propose? What do you mean by propose?" she asked immediately.

"To be my girlfriend... Calm down..." he laughed seeing her in distress.

She sighs in relief and kicks him on his leg.

"What was that for?"

"For calling me a 'Babe' earlier!" she grinned as she pulled him closer towards her.

She was all into the moment, ready for their lips to meet and do its deed when he pulls back, "You said you fell into the pool? What was that about?" he asked.

"Now who is a ruiner" she murmurs to herself. She raises her hands and shows him the bracelet that she was wearing.

"You threw the bracelet in the pool?" he asked.

"Yeah but just before that I saw what u did in it" she said.

"Did you like it?" he asked excitedly.

"I wouldn't be here if I didn't! I loved it!"

"And I love you!!" he seals his lips with hers immediately. As their kiss grew deeper, Roshni encircled her hands around him and jingled the bracelet end with her fingers.

"Daddy's Lil Princess" said the new addition on it as it clinked to another addition "I'm Sorry".

I forgot why i made that bracelet story in the first place maybe this one which i have written isn't that convincing enough, sorry if its stupid. 😕
