Sexiness is in the eyes of the beholder. But honesty I do feel she was effortesely sexy before she even lost weight. It was a combination of her personality and yea being pretty too- but more of her persona. Her personality overshadowed her looks and that made her sexy. Too bad she didn't realize this- because now I feel like she has lost 1/2 her charm. A lot of people on Bollywood- girls at least could not compare with her personality tbh. So I'm kind disappointed in the change.

Her insecurity about her weight, and hence the weight loss [my guess] is not due to any sort of personality changes and what-not. It's sadly due to the fact that Bollywood's lackluster and abysmal support of chubby and larger women. She was so strong in the beginning, but the criticism from all sides [yeah, even on this forum, though she doesn't read it] about her atypical non-conforming stick figure made her insecure. Human nature. It's sad.
Until India stops it's habit of fat-shaming [heck, as a Indian American, it's present among the desi community here too. more like South Asia], it will only be this way. Sonakshi didn't cave into the criticism but Parineeti did. Does that make either woman 'weaker'? No. It's Bollywood's inherent problematic view of women that is at fault here.

She looks wonderful in the photos. If this is what makes her happy, let her be. I always liked her acting regardless. And her body, be it stick-thin or chubby/large, is always beautiful, because women of all shapes and sizes are to be respected. 😳

There are two kind of heroines :- One who can act ., but very simple looking
One who can not act . but looks hot

But looking at the current trends DP, Kangy etc are not here only because of there looks , but acting talent too.

I think Pari is trying to do that , which is not bad, but she is looking desperate and that spark on her face, which made her unique is lost in the process ...

Pari you need to shed the YRF than your weight

I used to write posts just like yours, and can see where you're coming from.
But now I realise the truth is, the audience (majority of us) have the same ideal of beauty. And that is slim/toned. Nobody wants to be fat.
We all look at our stomachs and wonder "where is my 6 pack" (or a variation of that).
It's too easy to blame Bollywood.
Everytime a new item song comes out, if the actress has some belly flab, it gets talked about negatively. Toned just looks better. That's the truth.

😆

Firstly I don't get why there is the assumption that no one is "letting her be"...It's her body, her choice...she is more than welcome to do whatever she wants with it.

My problem is with her trying to make some "inspirational social message" out of her weight loss. Trying to make it sound like she was a fat nobody four years ago and now she should be lauded simply cuz she lost weight and apparently that is all it takes to transform into a confident woman😕

You talk about how this is a problem with society and human nature in general and it's not Parineeti's fault for caving in...then why is she going OVERBOARD shouting from the rooftops about her weight loss? Making it sound like she was nothing before her weight loss? Is that not socially irresponsible? To go out of your way to project such a thing to society at large? That look at me I'm strong only cuz I lost weight...if you are happy with it, that's great...but don't try to make it sounds like no world existed before your grand weight loss.

And then she compounds the problem by doing a photoshoot that shows her in bimbette outfits more than being about her fitness or workouts...sexiness is an attitude...it doesn't come from weight loss or skimpy clothes...but that point is lost on Parineeti and many young girls who seem to think that being skinny and "hot" is more important than having self-confidence and individuality.
