Why does people who loves masala films considered to be dumb?? - Page 4

I love masala films , if some people here think that i am dumb so be it but that's the type of entertainment i associate with BW movies BMB, lootera, barfi. lunchbox etc types make me depressing .

Unfortunately, I was one of those people with the holier-than-thou attitude. I really judged people who like masala movies. But that changed when I went to India for two months and watched Bodyguard. It was so much fun!! Everyone was whistling and cheering and I realized that masala movies are much needed break from the stressful routine lives we live.

And then I started appreciating (well-made) masala movies like Chennai Express, Kick etc. Nothing wrong in having fun and watching unrealistic action scenes and all that masala.

i dont think its the fact that people llike masala films is what's bad. its the fact that people who lack a sense of appreciation for meaningful cinema that's the bad aspect, because it stymies the growth and nurture of meaningful art. a good analogy is fast food vs complex food. fast food is delicious, most of us would absolutely enjoy it and there's nothing wrong with us for enjoying it. but it becomes shameful when we fail to recognize a complex food, a work of true art and talent because we ONLY want fast food.

I dont think theyre considered dumb. Thats why full on entertainers like bajrangi bhaijaan and chennai express are BB. everyone goes to see them.
