However it makes little sense in bashing producers for producing a female centric movie. Aisha and Khoobsurat - producers Rhea Kapoor and Anil Kapoor.

Any other producer does not get scrutinized as much as them.

I think their products (Aisha, Khoobsurat) are bashed because people think they suck, not because they are female centric.

I would like to see which thread you're talking about.I don't even see Rhea ever getting discussed here.
And bad movies will get bashed irrespective of who produced/directed/starred in it otherwise Sunny Leone should get maximum praises for woman centric movies or a pathetic movie like HNY should be praised for a female director

Welcome to the forum Rhea!

This topic is meant for a decent, sensible, progressive discussion on the role of women in Bollywood, not fanwars and silly comments.

No feminists on this forum, who are for movies, which are different to the million male centric movies.

I agree.

I never suggested bashing Khoobsurat and Aisha is wrong. If you find a movie terrible you have full right to bash it irrespective of female centric or not.

What is strange is shaming Rhea Kapoor and Anil Kapoor as producers.

Why shouldn't they produce a movie?

They are trying to do something different.

Why shouldn't they decide on their lead actress?

Nobody says Gauri Khan as a female producer she was wrong in getting lead actor for CE, but producers of Aisha and Khoobsurat are regularly scrutinized.

LOL! The Kapoors live in a world of their own where they make films for each other, are international stars and icons and everything is pretty.

And here is the general reaction to her films:

@bold- Exactly. Show some Smart female characters.

No bimbos please. Like Sonam's character was in Aisha. 🤢

But going by Sonam.. hardly doubt that bimbo character won't be there. And top it all her garbage acting. 🥱

People expect feminist movies to be sanctimonious and provide enlightenment. Fun, easy-breezy films are apparently a misnomer. 😆

I would quote more reactions here but don't want my reply to be monotonous. Check the Khoobsurat updates threads, trailer thread etc for more.

There are many such reactions floating around the forum. While some explicitly admit watching Rhea's films, other will admit indirectly by criticising her movies on base of lacking 'depth'. As if most Bollywood films are truly intellectual masterpieces. 😆 Don't be surprised if you catch some of the same people trashing Rhea's films cheering on Khans or any other of their favs' coveted chunks of stool...🤣

The general trend is that will only praise films (of people they dislike) on basis of BO returns.

P.S. No offence meant to any of the above members whose replies were quoted.
