Stifling a yawn, Sakshi stretched her sore muscles and leaned against the headrest. She blindly reached for her cell and switched off the alarm.

"Sakshi." She turned aside to find her husband grumbling and shooting her a glare as he eyed her phone. Sakshi bit her tongue and mouthed a sorry'. She hadn't realised that she had left the alarm on which led to a grumbling Arjun in the morning.

"Arjun I am... kaha jaa rahe ho?" Sakshi asked and reached for her robe as Arjun got off the bed and headed for the shower. "Going for a shower."

"Arjun it's just six, and yesterday you came to bed around 12. It's a Sunday, we can easily catch a few hours of sleep." Sakshi walked to her husband who ran a tired hand over his face "I can't sleep if I get disturbed even once in the morning."

"Arjun I really didn't realise, I am so..." Arjun blinked repeatedly and held her shoulders "It's fine, anyways I won't get sleep... you better catch a few winks."

Sakshi knew that it was anger speaking; his stiff shoulders and rigid face made her uneasy and she cursed herself for doing something stupid.

"I forgot to switch off the alarm." She said quietly while Arjun nodded "It's fine... you want to shower first?" He asked as Sakshi headed towards the bathroom.

"Oh... no... you..." Sakshi stammered while her husband of two years, smiled.

"With me?"

Turning a bright shade of red, Sakshi nodded her head negatively and sat on the bed while he walked into the bathroom.

She sighed, it was five years since she knew him and two since she married him. Truth to be told, she was scared, scared of disappointing Arjun. Sakshi couldn't understand what irritated Arjun but surely there was something going wrong.

He got irritated at the slightest of things, be it an alarm forgotten to be switched off or arriving at the office later than usual.

Clasping the mangalsutra around her neck, Sakshi couldn't help but think if their marriage was the right thing. He clearly hadn't moved on from whatever demons his past had and she clearly pushed him into this marriage.

They went very fast with it. It had been only two weeks when Arjun had begun to properly speak and show affection when Sakshi let every barrier down... it was hard for her. Hard to keep on loving a man who didn't love her back.

Thus when time came, she completely fell for the little love he showed to her. Not stopping to let it grow and wait for him to appreciate her.

The brooding man was an easy lover but a difficult husband. Being in love made Sakshi weak, no matter how she hated that statement. She stopped spitting fire or rebutting him and became the calm wife who controlled the temper of her husband.

Arjun had spelt his distaste for the festivities hence her dreams for celebrating Teej or Karwa Chauth remained as clouds in the air.

He never told about her past and she never asked.

All that she knew was the his wife was brutally murdered and that sealed her lips. Not that she stopped trying... she never did. Waking up at twelve to celebrate his birthday with pomp and colours, kissing his cheek publicly, singing songs around the house, dancing around Arjun and dramatizing his life had been her life.

But two years of continuous glares and annoyance from his end stopped it. Slowly and gradually the Anand was robbed from Sakshi's presence and all that she ever did was to keep him happy.

And the little R' tattooed on his hip was another of the added mysteries of her husband, although he had another one his arm - Roshni, his dead wife's name.

Their table conversations seemed limited to what the headlines said and their conversations would cease in the car, paving way for music.

However, Arjun never stopped her. He went along to each and every movie with her, drove her around the city if she wanted and paused to wait for her as she gobbled roadside pani puris. But he just stood, his silence stopped her from everything.

Until he saw her lost face on their anniversary. Arjun hadn't understood what went wrong. He had a beautiful saree delivered to her in the morning along with a bunch of wild lilacs - her favourite.

He even hosted a small party just because he knew she loved them. Yet he couldn't fathom as to why was there a wistful smile on her face as he gently cut the cake and fed her a piece. He was waiting for the public kisses, hugs or songs... but they never came. Sakshi had smiled back at him and gave him a small hug.

That wasn't Sakshi.

He knew he was complicated but then... Sakshi could handle it, she always had. He never spoke to her because he had liked her and she made sure that she would be the first face to wish him a Good Morning. His past was nothing short of a Pandora's box.

She never asked, he never told her. After bidding everyone from their house, he was surprised to find her emotional as he made love to her that night. He never saw her crying after they loved. Not even when it was her first time.

And these were tears of pain. Suddenly Arjun felt helpless, he had seen her smiling but crying was another thing. Her cries were soft and almost missed if he hadn't had his eyes trained on her.

Thus he whisked her away to Goa, hoping to make her happy.

As Arjun finished his shower, he turned to find his clothes missing.

"Sakshi!"

Sakshi shook from her reverie and got up to hand him over his clothes. "All okay?" Sakshi smiled back in reply.

As he buttoned his shirt he turned to Sakshi "Kahi jana chahogi?"

"Huh? Where you want..." Sakshi smiled to find his cop's eyes on her "Beach?" A little glow came on Sakshi's face as she thought about frolicking in the cool waters in this sweltering heat of July.

The glow was more than enough to tug her hand and head to the beach.

Sipping his glass of white wine, Arjun looked on as his wife settled herself near the waves, her laughter ringing loud in the air whenever the waves crashed against her. He smiled a little, though couldn't help worrying over her safety.

Removing his shirt, he followed suit as Sakshi swam further into the sea.

Sakshi let out a surprised gasp as she felt Arjun near her. Coughing slightly as she slurped on salty water, she held on to his shoulders as he patted her back. As the warmth shone in his eyes, Sakshi hoped that maybe this vacation would seal the hidden cracks.

"Okay?" Arjun asked, holding her firm in his grip as they bobbed in the water. He let out a contented sigh as she rest her forehead on his and nodded.

Suddenly the day seemed better, the sun shone brighter, the water felt warmer. She let her fingers caress his bare taut muscles as he swam to the shore with her on his back. Linking her arms around his neck she hugged him tightly.

"I am sorry... we'll talk everything out." Arjun spoke into her hair, feeling guilty as he saw her smiling after several days. He was silenced by a swift peck "Only if you can catch me." Sakshi laughed and pushed him off her, to run through the stretch of sand.

"Sakshi! You aren't serious." Arjun rolled his eyes while Sakshi pouted "Oh... too old to catch me eh?"

The next second Arjun broke into a sprint while a carefree Sakshi giggled her way.

"I know I will win!" Sakshi shrieked as Arjun hadn't caught up with her even after a good few minutes. Her laughter stopped at once and she turned to find Arjun standing still at a far distance. "Arjun?" Sakshi called out and ran upto him.

"What hap..." She paused to ask as Arjun stared at something in disbelief.

Rather, someone in disbelief.

The pain and longing in his eyes shook Sakshi, she turned aside to find a dusky woman with the same emotions mirrored in her eyes.

"Arjun?" That woman called out, hurt as she cast a glance at Sakshi and back at Arjun.

All of a sudden Sakshi felt a need to hold tighter to Arjun, her gut clenched.

"Riya..." Arjun mumbled.

Sakshi stilled as she saw Riya's eyes dart to the tattoo on his hips.

The R was never meant for Roshni.

Well you are allowed to be terribly confused on finding the same name for another story :) Due to the sudden dawning of realisation... I've decided to revamp my earlier works :) So here's Just Trust Me in the revamped mode *hope you like it* It's back with a better storyline and a better characterisation :)
