Shyam was declared as culprit by the Judge rightfully and was awarded a death penalty for raping a lady, outraging her modesty, physical violence, abduction and harm to vital organs as per the reports submitted by AR Hospitals, and statement by Khushi herself.
The judiciary wanted to award a 20-year-imprisonment as per the anti-rape bill of India but the lawyer appointed by Arnav, argued from the beginning that the culprit who was of the age 21, would may still have the same mindset at the age of 41 too, after all he wouldn't be too old by then and with reports supporting lawyers stand, judiciary had awarded a death penalty.
Shyam was dragged by the policemen out of the court hall, while Khushi and Arnav too walked out of the same time, coming face to face with him. The flashes of the cruel act appeared in front of Khushi's eyes, whose self-control was slipping. Shyam's eyes lingered over Khushi's body while a smirk played on his dirty lips that he had taken his revenge from her for questioning the way he was teasing girls on the road in the public, which was humiliation for him. Forgetting every possible consequence, Khushi lifted her sandal and imprinted it on Shyam's face.
The sound of the hard rubber clashing against the sham's face, resonated in the court hall while everyone turned their faces to look at the source of the sound, which turned out to be a woman turning into an embodiment of anger and fury as she faced the person who had dared to underestimate her and objectify her.
Khushi furiously spat on his face, while his eyes threw daggers of fire at her which she royally ignored and words excruciated from her throat as a painful lump formed at her throat due to his disgusting and disturbing presence,
" You still didn't get your punishment, did you? Still that look doesn't leave your eyes. Have you even learned to respect women, one of them who gave you birth, few of them who taught you and few of them who supported you? I never asked for anyone's downfall but today I really really hope that you face the worst possible consequences and die in the most painful way because hanging such a scumbag will not be a punishment, it will be a escape for you. Lajja Ati Hai Yeh Soch Kar Ki main Bhi Usi Dharti pe Khadi Hoon Jiss Dharti Par Tum Khade Ho."
The policemen chose to stay silent as Arnav signed them to be and they too had the awareness that Khushi's anger was justified. Khushi turned around on her heels and started walking so fast that it seemed that she was running, while Arnav had a hard time catching up to her.
" Doesn't he have a mother, dammit? Even after being punished, he was still looking at me with those dirty eyes. What wrong did I do to him that he destroyed me?" Khushi angrily muttered under her breath while Arnav gently held her shoulder and mellowed her,
" Calm Down, Khushi. He doesn't deserve your tears. He doesn't deserve your pain. He doesn't deserve even hatred of yours because he is an animal, a shame on the humanity and black spot on men."
" One stranger destroyed my life and one stranger made me believe in life again when my own parents abandoned me. Why, Arnav? Why so much of concern for me? What did I do to deserve all this concern from you?" Khushi questioned with a weak voice while her hollow eyes searched answers in his chocolate orbs, which were the pools of concern for her.
The feelings which he harbored for her since the minute he laid his eyes on the pale and lifeless face of hers, 15 days back were finally being questioned. He didn't know what to answer but he knew that he had to answer. If not for Khushi, then for himself and his own feelings which were threatening to break out and influence him.
" I don't what is this, Khushi. But I have never felt the way I feel when I am with you. I will that I am the most luckiest man on earth if you are beside me. And I don't why a feeling of pride seeps into me whenever I see your mental strength, as if you are someone whom I am very close to. That day, when you got admitted in the hospital and I saw you for the first time, I felt some new feelings that were never known to me walking into my heart and when I saw you in pain while the dressing sessions, I felt as if the wound was mine more than yours. Yesterday when you were carelessly laughing away, I felt as if there is nothing more I can ask from the god and as if I got everything required for my existence. I don't know what this is called, Khushi. But I am sure that whatever it is, it is very genuine and very profound and I don't want to stop these feelings at any cost." Khushi stumbled back a few steps as Arnav completed his words and a whisper left her mouth involuntarily,
" You love me, Arnav?"
Finally, he had found the name of the feelings haunting him through the day and resulting in sleepless nights for him. He looked at Khushi with the feelings of new found name, love while Khushi looked at him in an astounded fashion. He knew the pain he felt when he thought that Khushi was thinking to move away from them, when she was reluctant from taking any help from the Raizada Family. And now when he found the perfect name for it, it had become even more difficult for him to let her go even for a minute. The name fit the feelings so perfectly that it would be extremely stupid of him to deny the name and Arnav Singh Raizada was anything but stupid,
" Yes, Khushi. I love you. I love you so very much. Will you make me the luckiest man on the earth by staying beside me forever?"
